USA J1 TEACHER TRAVEL TIP! 🧳✈️
Check-In:
1. Check your luggage make sure the weight is okay. Check if no hazard etc. Travel light with your carry on luggage.
2. Prepare your CFO they’ll ask for it.
3. Pay for Travel Tax.
Immigration:
1. You may register for your eTravel at least 72 hours before your flight. You just need the following:
A. Passport Number
B. Flight Details (in your ticket)
C. Address in the US (where you’ll be staying)
D. The rest personal info.
E. Save the QR code in your phones to keep it handy.

2. No other questions. Just show your passport, boarding pass, and eTravel QR code.
Sometimes they will look for CFO.
3. Just prep to answer in case they will ask. Questions may be:
- Where is your Final Destination?
- What are you going to do there?
Take time to take good photos, rest and then sleep once you are on the plane. Enjoy the food and safe travels!!!
Once you get to the USA random checkings will happen, don’t panic. That’s normal. Just keep the following docs handy: Passport and Signed DS2019
Immigration questions can be:
1. Where are you from? (Philippines)
2. Where will you go? Polambato! 😂
3. What will you do there? (I will participate in the Teacher Exchange Program of the US under the J1 visa)
4. What will you be teaching? (Mention the subject or grade level and/or school if you want)
5. Where will your stay? (Mention your housing address)
6. Do you have goods or cash equivalent to $10,000? (No)
The immigration officer will take your picture then stamp and will welcome you to the USA, so don’t forget to say thank you with a big smile! 😁
