In the Philippines (PAGASA system), heavy rainfall warnings use colors to indicate severity and the needed response:
🌕 YELLOW WARNING
• Meaning: 7.5–15 mm of rain in 1 hour expected or has fallen.
• Impact: Possible flooding in low-lying areas.
• Action: Be aware. Monitor weather updates.
🟠 ORANGE WARNING
• Meaning: 15–30 mm of rain in 1 hour expected or has fallen.
• Impact: Threatening floods.
• Action: Be prepared. Possible evacuation.
🔴 RED WARNING
• Meaning: More than 30 mm of rain in 1 hour expected or has fallen.
• Impact: Serious and widespread flooding.
• Action: Take action. Evacuate to safe areas if advised.
