Lumpiang Gulay with Sayote, Carrots, Giniling, and Cabbage 🥕🧄🥬
Ingredients:
1 medium sayote, peeled and julienned
1 medium carrot, peeled and julienned
1/4 head cabbage, shredded
1/4 to 1/2 kilo giniling (ground pork or beef)
1 medium onion, chopped
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 tbsp soy sauce
Salt and pepper to taste
Cooking oil
Lumpia wrappers
Water + flour paste (for sealing the wrappers)
Instructions:
Sauté the Aromatics & Giniling:
Heat a little oil in a pan.
Sauté the garlic and onions until fragrant.
Add the giniling. Cook until lightly browned.
Season with soy sauce, salt, and pepper.
Add the Vegetables:
Add the carrots and cook for 2 minutes.
Add the sayote and cook for another 2–3 minutes.
Add the cabbage last and stir-fry for another 1–2 minutes. Don’t overcook; keep veggies slightly crunchy.
Adjust seasoning if needed.
Remove from heat and let the filling cool.
Wrap the Lumpia:
Place about 2 tablespoons of the filling on a lumpia wrapper.
Fold and roll tightly. Seal the edge with the flour-water paste.
Repeat until all filling is used.
Fry the Lumpia:
Heat enough oil for deep frying.
Fry the lumpia until golden brown and crispy.
Drain on paper towels.
Serve:
Serve hot with vinegar, garlic-vinegar dipping sauce, or sweet chili sauce.
