Kiozko is a rising Filipino alternative rock band from Cebu, formed in late 2024. The group consists of mostly seminarians (3 of them) studying at Pope John XXIII seminary and 1 studying at University of San Carlos. They span between the ages of 14 and 17. The lineup features vocalist and rhythm guitarist Xylem Omega, alongside siblings Benedict and Bernard Paraiso, who handle bass and drums, respectively. On lead guitar is Ulan Niñal, the son of Bisrock legend Insoy Niñal of Missing Filemon, whose influence adds depth and heritage to the band’s musical identity.
Kiozko began their journey rooted in punk rock, performing covers of iconic bands like Green Day and Blink-182 between November 2024 and January 2025. As their musical direction matured, they embraced a broader alternative rock sound shaped by the influence of artists such as Franco, Urbandub, Deftones, and Foo Fighters. This evolution brought a richer, more emotionally resonant tone to their performances.
While Kiozko currently performs primarily as a cover band, they are in the process of crafting original material—aiming to channel their shared experiences, personal convictions, and musical inspirations into a distinct and authentic sound.
