The Bible teaches that all people are born slaves to sin, unable to free themselves, but through Jesus Christ believers are freed from sin's power and become slaves to righteousness, meaning they are empowered by the holy Spirit to obey God leading to eternal life as highlighted in passages like John 8: 34 Romans 6: 6 and Galatians 5: 1. Sin enslaves but Christ liberates, offering a choice between bo***ge to sin, which leads to death or service to God which leads to holy living. .
In John 8: 34 Jesus states truly truly I say to you everyone who practices sin is a slave to sin.
Whatever overcomes a person they become a slave to it and sin Master's people, leading them to death 2 Peter 2:19, Romans 6:16
For freedom Christ has set us free stand firm therefore and do not submit again to a yoke of slavery, Galatians 5: 1.
The freedom isn't licensed to do whatever, but freedom from sin is to serve God presenting oneself as a slave to righteousness Romans 6: 12-13
