THE Green Lancers emerged victorious in a thrilling match against the USPF Panthers with the winning score of 74-70 in the CESAFI Men's Basketball Tournament on September 18, 2025, at the Cebu Coliseum.

Ivan Clark Alsola was named as the Player of the Game, racking up scores of 12 points, 6 rebounds, 2 assists, and a steal, which helped the Green Lancers clutch the game.

ARCHITECTURE sophomore students bagged awards at the Cebu Grigo Art's 'Guhit Bayani' competition awarding ceremony, held on September 12, 2025, at the Cebu Grigo Art Studio in Northgate Center, Banilad.

The art contest, a tribute to modern heroes for National Heroes Day, was conducted through online submissions and concluded on August 29, 2025.

Architecture students participated in both the Adults and Teens categories, showcasing their diverse talents and artistic skills.

In the Adults Category, architecture students Frans Nicko Ramo and Benjie Sulapas clinched 1st place, while Irylle Blanza, Stephanie Delfin, Mike Benjie Soroรฑo, and John Gilbert Gonzalgo secured 2nd place.

Meanwhile, in Teens Category, Rick Jason Rebesencio took 1st place, and Aloha Rodriguez won 2nd place.

The winners were awarded four free art sessions worth โ‚ฑ10,800 and free art materials.

Present at the ceremony were the program coordinator, instructors, and second-year architecture students.

THE College of Education (COED) in partnership with Carl E. Balita Review Center (CBRC) conducted the National Aptitude and Normative Test for Educators (NANTE) on September 8, 2025, at Inday Teresing Auditorium, UV Main Campus.

NANTE helps students to evaluate their knowledge proficiency and also strategically focus on identified areas that need improvement.

The test covered two major competencies: General Education and Professional Education, with 100 items each.

Students were given two (2) hours per competency to complete the examination.

The said examination was taken by fourth year education students.

THE Rotaract Club of Cebu Fuenteโ€“University of the Visayas Chapter celebrated its 10th Induction and Handover Ceremonies on September 5, 2025, at the 4th Floor Social Hall, Cebu City Hall, Cebu City.

Spearheaded by Rotaract Clubโ€“UV Chapter officers with the support of the Rotary Club of Cebu Fuente, the gathering carried the theme โ€œA Wicked Legacy: 10 Years of Defying Gravity,โ€ underscoring a decade of youth leadership, volunteerism, and service-above-self as the club welcomed new members and inducted its new set of officers and directors.

In his welcome remarks, Rotaract Clubโ€“UV Chapter Internal Adviser Mr. Eleo June Abalajon emphasized the importance of sustaining Rotaractโ€™s service legacy.

โ€œLetโ€™s not just continue the legacy; letโ€™s build upon it. Let us not just defy gravity; let us break free from it completely. Letโ€™s rise together to greater heights and ensure that our wicked legacy is not only a story but also a promise for an even more extraordinary future,โ€ he said.

For his part, Dr. Joel B. Serad served as the guest speaker and delivered a message, highlighting the clubโ€™s milestones and the importance of sustained leadership and service.

โ€œLet us try to make โ€˜Service-Above-Selfโ€™ our guiding principle in our lives, for we can create a world where service is not just an act but a way of life,โ€ he said.

โ€œTo all the Rotaractors, we create a world where everyone has the opportunity to thrive and reach their full potential in the name of service above self,โ€ he added.

Meanwhile, the club formally expanded its ranks, where former District Rotaract Representative of Rotary International District (RID) 3860 Rtr. Shevee Resolado administered the charging of new members, comprising 23 Rotaractors, while present District Rotaract Representative RID 3860 Rtr. Jacob Erm Jericho Dolino presided over the induction of new members, officially welcoming them as part of the club.

Capping his term, Rotaract Clubโ€“UV Chapter former President Rtr. Mike Drezer Vallejos delivered a valedictory address, expressing gratitude to advisers, partners, and members whose commitment defined the yearโ€™s accomplishments.

Rotary Club of Cebu Fuente President Rtn. Jason Ong conducted the charging of the president, reminding her of her duties and privileges.

Afterwards, Game Changer President Rtr. Jean Viola presented the officers and directors for the new Rotary year.

This was followed by the charging of officers and directors, led by Assistant District Rotaract Representative of Cebu RID 3860 Rtr. John Boniric Sanchez, which was later officiated by former President of the Rotary Club of Cebu Fuente Rtn. Alain Senerpida.

Thereafter, Rtr. Viola delivered her inaugural address, wherein she outlined priorities for the year and thanked the people behind her success.

The program featured a wine toasting led by Rotaract Clubโ€“UV Chapter External Adviser Mr. Neil Roy Impas, which concluded the inauguration.

THE Department of Dentistry held its 3rd White Coat Ceremony on August 31, 2025, at Casino Espaรฑol de Cebu.

Spearheaded by the department's Program Coordinator, Dr. Lorelie Dolores N. Omega, the ceremony signified the students' transition into clinical patient care.

University President Dr. Conrado E. Iรฑigo welcomed everyone with a wise philosophy and a mnemonic that sharpened the minds of the attendeesโ€”BIG SPEP: Begin today with the end in mind, Intelligence Quotient, Grit, Spiritual Quotient, Physical Quotient, Excellent mindset, and Proactive attitude.

Meanwhile, keynote speaker and Philippine Dental Association Cebu Chapter Incumbent Past President Dr. Thelma Pedida inspired the students by sharing the true meaning of the white coat in the profession.

"Let this white coat remind you of your purpose: to bring smiles, relieve pain, restore confidence, and promote oral health as an essential part of our overall wellbeing," she stated.

A total of 53 students were sworn in as junior clinicians for the school year 2025 and also pledged their oath.

Present were CAHS Dean Dr. Yvonne Sevilla, VP for Finance and Quality Management System and CBA Dean Dr. Rosemarie Cruz-Espaรฑol, VP for Academic Affairs Dr. Anna Lou C. Cabuenas, the department's clinical instructors, and the students' families.

THE Department of Architecture held their Inauguration and Induction of United Architects of the Philippines Student Auxiliary (UAPSA) - UV Chapter and University of the Visayas Society of Architecture Students (UVSAS) Officers on August 28, 2025, at Inday Teresing Auditorium, Inday Pining Building, UV Main Campus.

The event served as a formal introduction of the newly appointed officers of both UAPSA-UV Chapter and UVSAS for the fiscal year 2025-2026.

Architecture Instructor Ar. Mark Bodiongan delivered the opening remarks, extending a warm welcome to all attendees.

Meanwhile, Program Coordinator Ar. Gleezel Galanido conducted an orientation for students, especially freshmen, transferees, and shiftees.

Subsequently, Architecture Instructor Ar. Camille Ligtas presented a "Consistent Portfolio-Making" presentation, preparing architecture students for future practice and emphasizing why consistency matters.

Moreover, special guest Visayanian alumna and GLS student Ar. Pinky Macaseib delivered an inspirational message, emphasizing leadership and the profound significance of architecture.

"To everyone here, remember, you're not just studying architecture; you're preparing to shape the world," she said.

For her part, newly appointed UAPSA-UV Chapter President Sunday Mae Migullas, in her message, conveyed heartfelt appreciation for everyone's commitment and dedication.

"We gather here today, we're not just inducting new officers, we're building a community of like-minded individuals who share a passion for architecture and design," she said.

Afterwards, Architecture Instructor Ar. Freeli Berame delivered the closing remarks, expressing gratitude to all participants.

In addition, entertaining games and a yearly ritual for freshmen architecture students also took place.

The event featured a special performance from the UV Choir.

Present were the program coordinator, faculty, and architecture students from all year levels.

93.1 FM Radio Cebu visited the University of the Visayas for its Kavibes Campus Tour on August 29, 2025, at Inday Teresing Auditorium, Inday Pining Building, UV Main Campus.

The event started with a quick seminar that offered insights into the world behind the mic.

93.1 FM Radio Cebu Station Manager and Regional Manager, DJ Langganeda, shared her personal experiences on what it's like working in radio media.

Meanwhile, President DJ at RMB Mobile Audio and 93.1 FM Radio, Rico Mambo, made the event livelier by sharing humorous radio moments, thoroughly entertaining the students and showcasing his radio speaking skills.

Moreover, DJ Sprocket and Ate Bei led the "Pass the Mic" game, where participants sang "Golden" by Hunter/x.

After that, 93.1 FM Radio jock, DJ Kimyat, shared his day-to-day life as a DJ, highlighting the qualities of an effective broadcaster.

Adding to the excitement, Maki Otsuki, the talented vocalist behind the iconic One Piece ending theme, performed her song "Memories" live.

The event concluded with a brief Q&A session and games, with FM Radio Cebu merchandise as prizes.

Present were students from various departments, including students who are fans of Maki Otsuki.
