THE Career Placement Services and Alumni Relations (CPSAR), in partnership with the Junior Philippine Management Association of the Philippines (JPMAP) Cebu Federation and JPMAPโ€“University of the Visayas Chapter, hosted the Internship Fair 2026 on June 5, 2026, at the University Gymnasium.

The event was organized to provide students from all colleges of the university with opportunities to connect directly with partner employers and explore available internship placements.

Through the fair, participants gained access to various companies and organizations seeking interns, allowing them to learn more about industry expectations and potential career paths.

Moreover, students were encouraged to expand their professional networks by engaging with employer representatives and gaining valuable insights into workplace environments and internship requirements.

The program also highlighted the universityโ€™s commitment to strengthening studentsโ€™ career readiness and supporting their transition from the classroom to the workplace through internship opportunities.

THE Campus Ministry Department held a recollection for graduating students from the College of Allied Health Sciences (CAHS) and College of Education (COED) on June 5, 2026, in Rooms 501 to 503 of the Teresita Building.

The activity aimed to provide graduating students with a reflective and spiritual experience as they prepare for their transition beyond university life, in line with the theme, โ€œLove is the Anchor: Finding Hope in Godโ€™s Plan.โ€

Meanwhile, the recollection session was facilitated by the Servi Amoris Sisters, who served as guest speakers and guided participants through spiritual reflections and discussions centered on faith, hope, and purpose.

Through the recollection activities, graduating students were encouraged to reflect on their academic journey, personal growth, and aspirations as they prepare to embark on new chapters in their lives.

The event concluded with a Eucharistic Celebration, providing participants with an opportunity to gather in prayer and thanksgiving for the blessings and experiences they received throughout their years at the university.

THE College of Arts and Sciences (CAS), together with the Career Placement and Alumni Relations (CPSAR), conducted the Internship 101: Career Readiness for Incoming Interns orientation last May 29, 2026, at the Inday Teresing Auditorium.

The initiative aimed to prepare CAS interns for work in their respective fields during their internship, emphasizing the significance of not only physical readiness but also the mental and emotional preparedness of students before deployment.

In his welcome remarks, CAS Dean Atty. Ramie Bulaybulay Jr. also mentioned the importance of staying away from negative feelings and distractions in the field and maintaining inner peace to stay focused.

On the other hand, CPSAR Deputy Director Ms. J. V. Iway served as the guest speaker and discussed the essential things interns must have or prepare before embarking on their internship journey.

She also highlighted the value of gaining real-world experience in a professional work environment while building genuine professional connections and relationships.

The orientation was attended by incoming CAS student interns across various programs.

IN PHOTOS: THE University of the Visayasโ€™ Psychology Department and the Visayanian Association of Psychology Majors (VAPM) organized their annual team-building event, โ€œPTKY: Psyched To Know You,โ€ at Dโ€™ Family Park, Talamban, Cebu City, on May 9, 2026.

The program formed part of the Student Development Programs, aiming to provide a healthy and active environment for psychology students across all year levels while helping connect theory with practice.

The event began with welcome remarks from faculty member Mr. Joseph Bakiki, followed by a Zumba session that energized the participants for the day.

Moreover, students then split into their respective teams for โ€œget-to-know-youโ€ segments, followed by creative yell and banner-making activities.

The highlight of the event saw 1st and 2nd year psychology students rotate through different stations, immersing themselves in a series of games and activities designed to foster excitement and camaraderie.

Meanwhile, the activities were prepared by the 3rd and 4th year psychology students to test teamwork and psychological principles in a dynamic setting.

As a vital component of the annual PTKY, the event remains an important milestone for holistic development, ensuring that Visayanian psychology majors complement their academic growth with essential emotional and social intelligence.

THE College of Education (COED) from the Main Campus produced three (3) topnotchers in the March 2026 Licensure Examination for Professional Teachers (LEPT) Secondary Level, administered by the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) last March 15, 2026.

Ramil Gaurano earned the Top 3 spot with 94.60%, Fella Tehanee Sejas placed 5th with 94.20%, and Micah Jirah Mendoza took 7th place with 93.80%, respectively.

The COED aces are all Bachelor of Secondary Education major in Science (BSED-SCI) Latin honors graduates as well.

IN PHOTOS: THE passers of the April 2026 Pharmacists Licensure Examination from the University of the Visayas paid a courtesy visit to University President Dr. Conrado E. Iรฑigo Jr. on May 7, 2026, at the University President's Office, UV-Main Campus.

The visit followed the Universityโ€™s achievement of a perfect 100 percent passing rate for first-time takers, including 4th placer Denver Miles S. Arcelo.

THE College of Education (COED) student interns, together with the National Service Training Program (NSTP) students, organized a Community Extension (COMEX) program dubbed โ€œNourish to Flourish: Feeding Minds, Filling Hearts, and Extending Handsโ€ on May 4, 2026, at Brgy. Day-as Multi-Purpose Hall, Cebu City.

The initiative aimed to provide selected beneficiaries with school supply bundles and vitamins, along with a feeding program.

Meanwhile, UV alumnus and Day-as Brgy. Capt. Hon. Freddie Esmas, in his welcome remarks, expressed his gratitude and pride to the university and the COED family for the outreach activity that aided the children and youth of his community.

During the program, the children and student volunteers bonded through mini-games, storytelling, and Zumba.

Subsequently, the Day-as Brgy. Council awarded a certificate of appreciation to the university, which was received by the Students Internship Program of the Philippines (SIPP) Coordinator, Ms. Juliena Diaz-Enario, along with COED faculty member Ms. Trixie Ubas and Student Interns President Mr. Quirce Herrold Serrano.

THE College of Education (COED), through the Career Placement Services and Alumni Relations (CPSAR) office, conducted the โ€œJob Prep 101: How to Ace the Interview and Make a Winning CVโ€ seminar for their graduating students on April 30, 2026, in Rooms 501 to 503 of the Teresita Building.

The seminar was designed to equip aspiring educators with the essential knowledge, competencies, and practical skills necessary as they transition from academic preparation to real-world teaching and professional workplace environments.

In her welcome address, Bachelor of Secondary Education (BSEd) Program Coordinator Ms. Carodina Ginolos encouraged students to embrace their internship journey as a meaningful opportunity for growth, self-discovery, and professional advancement.

โ€œPreparing for a job is more than just writing a resume or attending interviews; it is about understanding your strengths, developing the right mindset, building confidence, and learning how to present yourself with clarity and purpose,โ€ she said.

โ€œBeing prepared means being adaptable and proactive, leading to continuous growth,โ€ she added.

A key highlight of the program was the insightful and engaging session delivered by CPSAR Deputy Director Ms. J. V. Iway, who served as the guest speaker for the event.

In her discussion, Ms. Iway explained the core principles of acing a job interview as well as the significant features of a curriculum vitae for a higher chance of being hired, highlighting the importance of workplace etiquette, professional conduct, adaptability, and maintaining a proactive attitude.

Moreover, she also introduced a user-friendly online platform, the university career portal, that enables students to create professional, well-structured resumes with greater ease and convenience, helping them present their qualifications effectively and confidently to prospective employers.

Additionally, she shared valuable practical strategies on how interns can maximize learning opportunities, cultivate meaningful professional relationships, and leave a positive and lasting impression within their assigned institutions.

Subsequently, an interactive open forum followed the discussion, during which students actively participated by raising questions and seeking guidance on workplace challenges, and effective strategies for achieving professional success.

THE Department of Architecture held Aninag: Architectural Art Exhibition, themed โ€œReimagining Art and Spaces: Visions of Tomorrowโ€, on April 29, 2026, at UV-Main Lobby.

The program was organized by United Architects of the Philippines Student Auxiliary (UAPSA) UV Chapter and University of the Visayas Society of Architecture Students (UVSAS) officers.

Featuring creativity and innovation, the exhibition showcased various architectural works by Architecture students.

For her part, Architecture Instructor Ar. Camille Ligtas delivered her welcome remarks, where she warmly greeted all attendees and expressed her gratitude for their presence.

In addition, Keynote Speaker and UV Alumnus Ar. King Rosales gave an insightful presentation titled โ€œHeritage Conservation as a Specialization in Architecture in the Cebuano Landscapeโ€.

Furthermore, the event included an awarding ceremony to recognize students who produced outstanding outputs.

Finally, Program Coordinator Ar. Gleezel Galanido delivered the closing remarks and extended her appreciation to everyone who attended the event.

Present during the event were the Program Coordinator, faculty members, guests, officers of UAPSA-UV and UVSAS, and Architecture students.
