๐ง Aboitiz Construction, Tsuneishi, and LCIC Break Ground for New Civil Engineering Building in Lapu-Lapu City
Lapu-Lapu City, Cebu โ August 12, 2025 โ A new hub for future engineers is officially underway! Aboitiz Construction, in partnership with Tsuneishi Holdings (Cebu) Inc. and Lapu-Lapu Cebu International College (LCIC), has broken ground on a 16-month Civil Engineering Building project in Bankal, Lapu-Lapu City.
The upcoming facility is more than just classrooms and labsโitโs designed to be a training ground for future civil engineers and shipbuilding professionals, strengthening Cebuโs role as a center for world-class talent.

Completion timeline: 16 months
Scope: civil, structural, architectural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection works
Jobs generated: nearly 200, with 90% of manpower sourced locally
Purpose: provide modern training facilities and boost educational infrastructure for future engineers

This initiative strengthens the long-standing AboitizโTsuneishi partnership, which began in 1996 and has since supported shipbuilding projects while creating an average of 1,500 local jobs annually.
