Today, I got hit with a roadblock I honestly wasn’t prepared for.

As a business owner, you learn to deal with slow days, rising costs, employee problems, unexpected expenses, and all the usual challenges that come with running a business.

But sometimes, something happens that is simply outside your control.

Government regulations.
Lease contracts.
Policies and decisions made by people who aren’t running the business with you.

And today, I’m feeling the weight of that.

I want to fight for what I’ve built.

But at the same time, I have to ask myself if fighting is still worth it.

This isn’t just a business to me. It’s my bread and butter. It’s something I’ve spent years building, and there’s a lot more attached to it than just numbers on a spreadsheet.

There’s our family’s livelihood.

There’s the people who work with me.

There’s the time, money, and energy we’ve already invested.

And then there’s the uncertainty of not knowing what happens next.

I wish running a business was simply about working hard and doing things right.

Sometimes, you can do everything you can on your end and still find yourself in a situation you didn’t choose.

I’m not sure what I’m going to do yet.

Maybe I’ll fight.

Maybe I’ll have to rethink things.

Maybe I’ll wake up tomorrow and see the situation differently.

For tonight, I’m just allowing myself to admit that I’m worried.

Being a business owner isn’t always about being confident and having all the answers.

Sometimes, it’s sitting with uncertainty and trying to figure out what comes next.

Today’s news from Zamboanga really saddened me.

As a parent, it hits differently when you hear about something like this happening in a school.

We send our children to school every morning believing they are going to learn, make friends, laugh with their classmates, and come home to us at the end of the day.

And then you hear something like this, and for a moment, you just think about your own children.

It makes me want to hug my boys a little tighter tonight.

Tell them I love them.

Listen to them a little more.

And not take the ordinary things for granted—the school runs, the homework, the messy rooms, the noisy dinners, even the days when I’m tired and just want everything to slow down.

Because sometimes we get so caught up in providing for our children and getting through the day that we forget how precious the simple moments are.

My heart goes out to the families affected by what happened in Zamboanga.

Tonight, I’ll be a little more grateful for the sound of my boys laughing at home.

And I’ll probably give them an extra hug.

Sometimes that’s all we can do.

Lately I've been paying more attention to ordinary days.

They may not seem memorable now, but I have a feeling they'll be the ones I miss someday.

There’s something oddly satisfying about starting a new month with a grocery run.

Restocking the pantry.
Crossing things off the list.
Wondering how we always end up buying more than we planned. 😅

One thing that hasn’t changed though…

I still have my favorite little shopping buddy insisting on pushing the cart every chance he gets. ❤️

Hello, August.

My birthday month is finally here.

I figured this would be the perfect time to start a little photo journal.

Nothing fancy.

Just the ordinary moments that make up my days—from busy mornings and work to family time and everything in between.

Let's see what August brings.

Cebu. Cebu. Cebu.

Tired of the rain.
Business has been slow.
School pick-ups take a little more planning.
And every drive starts with wondering which roads are flooded.

Hopefully, next week brings a little sunshine.🙏🏻

One day, they’ll be too big to carry.

Too big to fit on our laps.
Too big to hold our hand crossing the street.
Too big to fall asleep on our shoulder.

But here’s something I’ve learned:

No matter how big they get, they’ll never be too big for our love.

So when they ask for one more hug,
one more cuddle,
one more moment close to us,

say yes.

Because one day, we’ll miss being the place they run to. ❤️

Today, I noticed his school shoes were already getting dirty.

Scuff marks.
Dust.
Little scratches.

A small part of me wanted to clean them immediately.

But another part of me smiled.

Because those shoes tell a story.

They tell me he ran during recess.
He played with friends.
He explored.
He laughed.

Sometimes, the signs of a good day aren’t found in things that stay perfectly clean.

Sometimes, they’re found in dirty shoes, wrinkled uniforms, and tired little smiles at the end of the day.

And honestly?

I’ll take those memories over spotless shoes any day. ❤️
