Medellin Free Public WiFi is Now Available 🛜

The ICT Department, with the assistance of the Electrical Department, has successfully installed free public WiFi at the following locations:

• Rizal Park Area
• TRA Area
• 3rd Floor Social Hall (Municipal Hall)

This project is part of Mayor Edwin Salimbangon’s push for digitalization, bringing reliable and accessible internet closer to the people of Medellin.

The service is accessible daily from 5:00 AM to 12:00 Midnight, with a 3-hour limit per user.
This limit is in place to prevent long idle usage and late-night overstaying, particularly among teens, while ensuring fair access for all users.

For those who need extended internet time for work, school projects, and emergencies, a free voucher code can be requested from the TRA staff which is open 24hrs daily. Each voucher provides an additional 8 hours of internet access beyond the standard limit.

Next, the ICT Department will be installing free public WiFi at the Dockside and inside the Medellin Sports Complex to further expand connectivity across the municipality.

The Municipality of Medellin encourages everyone to use this service responsibly and make the most of this initiative for learning, work, and community engagement.

Today marks a meaningful milestone in our mission to build stronger, more connected communities.

On behalf of 7Core Communications, Inc., our President, Cloyd Bere Dedicatoria, formally turned over a Gigabit Passive Optical Network (GPON) System to the Municipality of Medellin, Cebu. This donation, is our direct contribution to the town's Emergency Digitalization and Modernization Project—an initiative aimed at strengthening the local government's capacity to respond in times of crisis.

The GPON system includes modern fiber-optic infrastructure, Wi-Fi connectivity, IP telephony, and local network capabilities—technologies that are essential for real-time communication and coordination among key offices like the PNP, BFP, MDRRMO, and the Mayor’s Office.

More than just hardware, this is about enabling better service delivery, especially when it matters most.

🍽️ Dinner at MSY Residence

Mayor Edwin Salimbangon shared a dinner with Governor Pam Baricuatro, Atty. Chito Clavano, and Atty. Mico Clavano from the Department of Justice at MSY Residence.
