๐๐๐๐๐ | AFTA, LLCC forge Global Educational Partnership
The Association of Fil-Am Teachers of America, Inc. (AFTA) nd Lapu-Lapu City College (LLCC) formally sealed a new educational partnership through a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signing on August 28, 2025, at the Administration Building.
In her opening remarks, Dr. Maria Noeleen M. Borbajo, College Administrator, expressed her gratitude to AFTA for extending its programs and support to LLCC.
The program also featured messages of gratitude from AFTA scholars Mr. JD A. Arong and Ms. Keziah Nessa Daรฑo, who shared the life-changing impact of AFTAโs scholarship and support.
โWalang humpay po ang aking pasasalamat sa inyong kabutihan, dedikasyon, at malasakit sa mga kabataang nangangailangan ng suporta", he shared.
"Lapu-Lapu City College has thousands of students, yet I am blessed to be one of your scholars pursuing my dreams up until now,โ Mr. Arong added.
Similarly, Ms. Daรฑo shared how the scholarship made a difference in her studies.
โMy scholarship allowed me to buy a laptop, which greatly helped me focus on my studies without worrying about finances,โ she shared.
โThank you, AFTA, for inspiring me to aim higher and for changing many lives through your support,โ she stressed.
The formal signing of the MOU followed, with Dr. Borbajo and Ms. Rena Tarcila O. Pedaria, President of AFTA, affixing their signatures.
โLapu-Lapu City College has always been close to our hearts. Our interactions have included many Balikturo series in the past and the sponsorship of AFTA scholars in partnership with the Commission on Filipinos Overseas", Ms. Pedaria shared on behalf of the association.
"Our partnership has continued because of our shared values of commitment and genuineness in our service for the future of our Filipino youth and the overall development of our society,โ she expressed.
The program concluded with closing remarks from Dr. Marsha H. Malbas, Dean of the College of Education.
This collaboration marks a global partnership that strengthens education, empowers students and faculty, and opens opportunities for international cooperation.
It also supports the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, particularly SDG 4 (Quality Education), SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth), SDG 10 (Reduced Inequalities), and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals).
