𝐋𝐎𝐎𝐊 | LLCC, PTAB sustain partnership through new Adopt-A-School Project
Lapu-Lapu City College (LLCC) and the Philippine Teachers Association–Bahrain (PTAB) strengthened their ongoing partnership through a new initiative—the Adopt-A-School Project launched on August 5, 2025, at the Mactan Isla Café, College of Hospitality and Tourism Management (CoHTM) building.
This project reflects the partners’ continued commitment to expanding educational access and empowering Filipino students.
Dr. Maria Noeleen M. Borbajo, College Administrator, opened the program with heartfelt remarks, underscoring the power of sustained partnerships in creating long-term impact.
“As a local college, we continue to grow and evolve. We are grateful to be chosen as one of the beneficiaries of the Adopt-A-School Project Program,” she stated.
“This initiative speaks volumes about your heart for service and your desire to uplift Philippine education,” she added.
PTAB President Ms. Rowena Desierto echoed this commitment in her message on behalf of the association.
“We are truly happy to share with you the blessings from Almighty God. It is our hope that this project will continue to grow, and we assure you that the officers and members of the association are committed and trustworthy in supporting initiatives like this.”
Former PTAB President Dr. Junifer Abatayo gave an overview of the project, outlining its objectives, origins, and long-term vision for supporting Filipino education.
Mrs. Ma. Kristel O. Amoro, Community Extension and Services Linkages (CESL) Coordinator, introduced this year’s beneficiary—Ms. Myrna Mengote, a 72-year-old first-year BEEd student—symbolizing the program’s inclusive reach.
An audio-visual presentation highlighted PTAB’s past milestones and advocacy efforts, followed by a token-giving segment led by Dr. Marsha H. Malbas, COEd Dean, in recognition of PTAB’s ongoing contributions.
The program’s highlight was the ceremonial signing of the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) between Dr. Borbajo and Ms. Desierto, formalizing the project and reinforcing the sustainability of the partnership.
In her closing remarks, Mrs. Amoro reflected on the deeper meaning of the collaboration.
“Your presence here is not only an honor but a reminder that no matter where we are in the world, there are Filipino educators who care deeply about the future of our learners,” she said.
“May this program serve as a reminder that education is not just about knowledge, but about compassion, connection, and shared growth.”
Now on its second formal collaboration, the LLCC-PTAB partnership first took shape in 2024, when two LLCC students received internship and uniform support—both of whom have since graduated.
With the Adopt-A-School Project, LLCC and PTAB continue to champion inclusive education, foster lifelong learning, and uplift communities through sustained academic support.
