A little disclaimer : I didn’t really watch this season of PBB. I just saw clips on TikTok here and there. But even with those small moments, it was clear to me —Esnyr is that kind of person you’d want around. Masayahin, totoo, at mabait.

That’s why it really hurt to see him not get picked right away.
He was everyone’s friend—always kind, always present, always making people feel seen. Pero nung oras na ng pilian, parang siya pa yung hindi pinili.

You can be the light in every room.
The one people lean on when they’re scared.
The one they run to when they’re down.
Pero pag ikaw na yung kailangang piliin... minsan, ikaw pa rin ang hindi pinipili.

And that’s the painful part.
Because this isn’t just about Esnyr.
Kwento rin natin ‘to.

Ilang beses na ba tayong naging ganyan? Yung binigay mo lahat—oras, effort, pagmamahal—pero pag ikaw na yung nangangailangan, tahimik ang lahat. Walang pipili sa’yo. Walang lalaban para sa’yo.

We think that being good to everyone will protect us.
That if we show up for people, they’ll show up for us too.
Pero ang totoo? Hindi lahat ng tinulungan mo, tutulong din sayo.
Hindi lahat ng pinili mo, pipiliin ka rin.

So I’m learning this:
It’s okay to be kind.
It’s beautiful to be generous.
Pero piliin mo rin kung sino ang karapat-dapat sa puso mo.

Because not everyone you laugh with will stand with you.
Not everyone you comforted will comfort you.
And not everyone you chose… will choose you back.

You deserve someone who will choose you—
Hindi lang kapag madali.
Hindi lang kapag convenient.
Kundi kahit walang nakatingin.
Kahit walang palakpak.
Kahit ikaw na lang ang natitira.
