Our hearts go out to everyone affected by the recent earthquake in the Philippines. May Allah grant strength, patience, and swift relief to all those suffering especially our brothers and sisters who have lost loved ones, homes, or safety. 🤍
For us Muslims, this is a powerful wake-up call. We rush after provision for this worldly life building homes, saving wealth, planning years ahead—yet in a blink of an eye, it can all disappear. Earthquakes don't ask permission. Death doesn't wait.
This is the time to reflect and turn back to Allah in sincere repentance. Stop delaying. Stop assuming you have tomorrow. Our rizq (provision) is written, but our iman (faith) and good deeds are what we can actually carry with us.
Let’s refocus:
🕋 Our ibadah (worship)
💧 Our sincerity
❤️ Our charity and kindness
🤲🏻Our remembrance of Allah
These are what lasts. These are what we take to the grave and into the akhirah. Not the bank balance. Not the house that shook.
Remember, those who remain patient in the midst of the devastation and distress will be rewarded and recompensed by Allah Almighty;
He says, “And We will surely test you with something of fear and hunger and a loss of wealth and lives and fruits, but give good tidings to the patient, Who, when disaster strikes them, say, ‘Indeed we belong to Allah, and indeed to Him we will return.’ Those are the ones upon whom are blessings from their Lord and mercy. And it is those who are the [rightly] guided” (Quran, 2:155-157).
May Allah forgive us, protect us, and make us among those who return to Him before it's too late. Ameen.
Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji'un (To Allah we belong and to Him we return).
