Isang babaeng public school teacher ang kinidnap ng mga armadong lalaki sa isang liblib na lugar sa Barangay Lilod sa Maguing, Lanao del Sur nitong Miyerkules, August 12.

Kinumpirma nitong Huwebes ni Capt. Steffie Salanguit, spokesperson, ng Police Regional Office, ang pagka-kidnap sa naturang lugar kay Baesarome Dagalangit Bagul, isang teacher sa Malungon Elementary School sa Maguing, isa sa 39 na mga bayan na sakop ng Lanao del Sur.

Sa ulat ng mga barangay officials at mga imbestigador mula sa Maguing Municipal Police Station na nagresponde sa insidente, sakay ng isang tricycle si Bagul na hinarang ng mga armadong kalalakihan na magkasama sa isang kulay p**a na Toyota Rush.

Sapilitang pinasakay ng mga kidnappers si Bagul sa kanilang kotse at agad na tumakas.

Walang nagawa ang driver ng tricycle na si Saidona Sobngan Musa dahil armado ang mga dumukot kay Bagul.

Nagtutulungan ang mga units ng PRO-BAR sa Lanao del Sur at ang mga municipal officials sa Maguing sa paghanap kina Bagul at ang mga dumukot sa kanya. (AUGUST 13, 2026)

COTABATO CITY, Philippines (Philippine Star, August 12, 2026) — A major hospital in the capital town of Maguindanao del Norte province launched its Women’s Welfare Center on Tuesday, August 11, the first of its kind in the entire Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao.

Led by their chief, Ibrahim Pangato, physicians and administrative employees of the Cotabato Sanitarium and General Hospital in Barangay Pinaring in Sultan Kudarat, Maguindanao del Norte together launched their newly-established Women’s Wellness Center (WWC) that shall provide special medical interventions for ailing women.

Located inside the three-hectare CotSanGen Hospital compound, the WWC, equipped with modern medical facilities, is the first ever in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao.

Pangato, himself a practicing physician, had told reporters that CotSanGen Hospital officials and employees collaborated in setting up the WWC.

The WWC can provide women with special medical services, including prenatal care, breast condition screening, essential gestational and adolescent health interventions, according to hospital officials who, along with Pangato, led its inauguration on Tuesday morning.

The launching of the WWC was held in the presence of community leaders, reporters, representatives from different local government units, officials of the Maguindanao del Sur Provincial Police Office and a representative of the Islamic community in Cotabato City and Maguindanao del Norte, the preacher Abdulmohaymin Jacobo.

“This facility was established using funds from the CotSanGen Hospital’s coffer,” Pangato said.

BARMM's health minister, the physician-ophthalmologist Kadil Sinolinding Jr., who is also a member of the 80-seat Bangsamoro parliament, said he will urge his fellow lawmakers to help him study possible legislation that can improve the public service initiatives of the CotSanGen Hospital, only more than 10 kilometers north of the government center of the autonomous regional government in Cotabato City. Sundalo patay, 2 kasama sugatan sa Sulu ambush

Isang sundalo ang agad na namatay habang sugatan naman ang kanyang dalawang kasama sanhi ng pananambang sa Sitio Kasambuhan sa Barangay Tagbak sa Indanan, Sulu nitong Miyerkules, August 12.

Ang sundalong nasawi sa naturang ambush, si Cpl. Aldrin Wanson, ay kasapi ng 41st Infantry Battalion na sakop ng 11th Infantry Division ng Philippine Army.

Magkahiwalay na kinondena nitong Huwebes nila Major Gen. Jose Vladimir Cagara, acting commander ng Western Mindanao Command, at ng mga local executives sa Indanan ang insidente. Natutulungan ang mga local executives sa Indanan, ang mga officials ng 41st IB at ng Sulu Provincial Police Office sa pagkilala sa mga nag-ambush sa tatlong sundalo upang masampahan ng mga kaukulang kaso.

Sugatan sa insidente sina Cpl. Philip Wiga at Cpl. Benjie Jacinto na agad na dinala ng mga civilian at Army emergency responders sa Kuta Heneral Teodulfo Bautista Station Hospital sa headquarters ng 11th ID.

Ayon sa mga officials ng 41st IB at ng Indanan Municipal Police Station, sakay ng motorsiklo ang tatlong mga sundalo ng tambangan ng mga armadong kalalakihan sa Sitio Kasambuhan, Barangay Tagbak.

Mabilis na nakatakas ang mga namaril kina Wanson, Wiga at Jacinto gamit mga motorsiklo.

Si Wanson ay tinamaan ng bala sa ulo na nagsanhi ng kanyang agarang pagkamatay. Ang kanyang mga kasamang si Wiga ay nagkasugat sa kanang paa at daplis sa noo sanhi ng naturang pananambang. Si Jacinto naman ay nagtamo ng bala sa kanang hita. Silang dalawa ay ginagamot na ng mga Army physicians sa isang pagamutan sa headquarters in 11th ID. (AUGUST 13, 2026)

Up to 21 students fainted one after another during an event on Tuesday night, August 11, at the campus of the Sunshine College Incorporated in Barangay Tamontaka 2 in the south of this city, all immediately brought to medical dispensaries by emergency responders for treatment

School officials and local executives told reporters on Wednesday that the incident disrupted the merry-making by students and their teachers then, part of their celebration of the founding anniversary of their school that they started three days before.

Superstitious villagers in houses around the campus were quick to assert that the students were “possessed” by evil spirits disturbed by their noisy activities and the fireworks that capped off their three-day event, something that emergency responders and local executives brushed aside as pure superstition, virtually unbelievable.

Barangay officials and rescuers in the Cotabato City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CDRRMO) said it could be hunger, stress, or food poisoning, or dehydration that weakened the 21 students and made them dizzy.

All of them were returned to their houses by emergency responders under the office of Cotabato City Mayor Bruce Matabalao after having been provided with ample medical intervention,

Matabalao has ordered his subordinate-officials in the City Health Office and their CDRRMO and barangay officials in Tamontaka 2 to collaborate in trying to determine why the students fainted one after another amid their activities in their campus. (August 12, 2026)

Isang tama ng bala sa ulo ang kumitil sa buhay ng isang 38-anyos na online seller makaraang barilin ng armadong lalaki sa Brgy. Pasil sa Cebu City, ayon sa ulat nitong Martes.

Sa report ng Cebu City Police, kinilala ang biktima sa alyas na “Eve”, may asawa at residente ng nasabing lugar.

Base sa imbestigasyon, nangyari ang insidente sa tahanan ng biktima sa Brgy. Pasil ng lungsod habang nagpapahinga sa sala ng kanilang bahay.
Bigla na lamang dumating ang suspect na si alyas “Jun”, 34, at tuluy-tuloy na pumasok sa tahanan ng biktima at agad itong pinagbabaril ng pistol.

Agad na nagtatakbo patakas ang suspect pero hinabol ng mga residente saka kinuyog bago pa man dumating ang mga pulis kaya naaresto.

Ayon sa pulisya, ang suspect ay may rekord na dahil sa mga naging kaso sa illegal na droga at umano’y dahil sa pagiging hired killer o hitman. (August 12, 2026, a PSN report)

Patay ang isang beauty queen at nobyo nito sanhi ng pagkakabangga ang kanilang kotseng sinasakyan sa isang nakaparadang truck sa national highway ng Brgy. Minante 2, Cauayan City, Isabela noong Linggo ng gabi.

Kinilala ang mga nasawi na sina Mutya ng Cauayan 2023 Ann Ramos, 25-anyos at ang boyfriend nitong si James Miguel, 30-taong gulang.

Si Ramos ay nagtapos ng Business Administration sa Our Lady of the Pillar College sa Cauayan City.

Sa ulat ng Isabela City Police, nangyari ang insidente sa kahabaan ng highway ng lungsod habang lulan ang magka¬sintahan ng Vios Sedan kung saan hindi umano napansin ni Miguel ang truck na puno ng kargang palay na nakaparada sa tabi ng kalsada.

Sa lakas ng pagka¬kabangga, nagtamo ng matitinding pinsala sa katawan ang dalawang biktima kung saan ang beauty queen at nobyo ay kapwa idineklarang dead-on-arrival sa pagamutan.

`𝗕𝘂𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗲𝗱' 𝘀𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗳𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱 𝗱𝗲𝗮𝗱 𝗶𝗻 𝗿𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿

A student reportedly abducted somewhere in this city and found dead at a shallow river in Barangay Matengen in nearby Sultan Kudarat, Maguindanao del Norte on Tuesday, August 11, had complained early on about having bullied frequently by schoolmates whose identities he had reported to school officials and his relatives.

The 21-year-old Abubakar Lauban Hasim, a third-year business administration student of the Cotabato State University City, was first reported by friends and classmates in Cotabato City as missing on Monday, August 10, and, subsequently found dead on Tuesday along a river bank in Barangay Matengen in Sultan Kudarat, about 15 kilometers away.

Friends and classmates of Hasim had told reporters that he was apprehensive of his safety after he told his friends, classmates and teachers about his being bullied by unruly men, whose names he also revealed to them.

Police probers and barangay officials in Matengen said Hasim has two bullet wounds in his body.

They are certain that he was snatched and killed somewhere in Cotabato City and was brought and dumped by his killers at a shallow spot in a river in Barangay Matingen.

Hasim is from a Moro family in Barangay Tukanalipao in Mamasapano town in Maguindanao del Sur.

Captain Steffie Salanguit, spokesperson of the Police Regional Office-Bangsamoro Autonomous Region, said investigators and intelligence operatives from different units of the Cotabato City Police Office and the Sultan Kudarat Municipal Police Station and local executives in the municipality are cooperating in putting a closure to the apparently premeditated murder of Hasim. Kasalukuyang nagtutulungan ang pulisya at mga community leaders sa pagkilala sa mga pumatay sa isang 40-anyos na lalaking kilalang mapagkawanggawa at matulungin sa mga kaibigang mahirap, natagpuang patay, may mga tama ng bala sa isang lugar sa kanyang fishpond mismo sa Purok 6 sa Mother Barangay Kalangangan nitong nitong Lunes, August 10.

Sa ulat ng Cotabato City Police Office nitong Miyerkules, mga nagbabantay ng mga fishpond sa Purok 6 sa Mother Barangay Kalangangan ang nakatagpo sa bangkay ni Antonio Herida Hugnatan Jr., nakandusay sa maputik na lugar sa kanyang palaisdaan, wala ng buhay.

Agad namang nakuha ng mga barangay officials at mga kamag-anak ang bangkay ni Hugnatan kung saan ito natagpuan at nadala gamit isang pumpboat sa kanilang tahanan, ayon kay Col. Jibin Bongcayao, Cotabato City police director.

Ayon kay Bongcayao, tumutulong ang mga community leaders at barangay officials sa Mother Barangay Kalanganan sa pagkilala sa mga pumatay kay Hugnatan upang masampahan ng kaukulang mga kaso.

Byuda inagawan ng pera, pinatay pa ng babaeng kapitbahay

Isang byuda ang napatay sa saksak ng kanyang kapitbahay na babae na nang-agaw ng kanyang sling bag na may lamang P12,500 cash sa loob mismo ng kanyang tahanan sa Purok 5 sa Barangay Rosary Heights 9 sa Cotabato City nitong hapon ng Martes, August 11.

Sa ulat nitong Miyerkules ng Cotabato City Police Office, nadeklarang dead on arrival ng mga doctor sa Cotabato Regional Medical Center ang 61-anyos na biktimang si Lumbay Malo Dalmaob kung saan siya dinala ng mga pulis at barangay officials na nagresponde sa insidente.

Agad namang naaresto ng mga pulis at mga barangay officials si Normina Vicente Ramalan, 20-anyos, na nakapatay sa biktima at tumangay ng kanyang sling bag na may lamang pera at isang gintong singsing.

Ayon kay Capt. Steffie Salanguit, spokesperson ng Police Regional Office-Bangsamoro Autonomous Region, positibong kinilala ng mga residente ng Purok 5 sa Barangay Rosary Heights 9 si Ramalan na siyang responsable sa pagpatay kay Dalmaob sa loob mismo ng kanilang bahay sa naturang lugar.

Agad naming umamin, sa harap ng mga barangay officials, si Ramalan sa nagawang krimen sanhi ng pangangailangan sa pera.

Nakadetine na sa isang police detention facility si Ramalan, nahaharap na sa mga kaukulang mga kaso, ayon kay Salanguit. (August 12, 2026)
