📢 Posting for awareness
Someone came to our store pretending that his “mom bought a TV” and he was just there to pick it up. When asked where his “mom” was, he just said “she’s on the other street.” He had no receipt, but our staff got misled and released the TV. Later, we found out he wasn’t connected to the real buyer at all.
We believe the culprit had been watching other customers and was even present when the real owner bought the TV. Since the unit was left in the store for later pick-up, he took advantage of the situation. Our staff also rushed because the tricycle he hailed was parked in the middle of the road and they didn’t want to cause traffic.
⚠️ Please note: the CCTV timestamps are 1 hour late, so the time shown in the footage is not exact.
We admit this was also our mistake for not being stricter. We’re already improving our process so this won’t happen again.
