Feeling like “free labor” — even in the dream you prayed for?
I left my 9–5 to build something meaningful. To have time freedom, be more present as a mom, and create a business that could support my family long-term while inspiring others especially single moms to be more independent.
But lately, it feels like I’m working more than ever. Not just on my business — but in my business, around the clock, without rest, without pay, and sometimes without appreciation.
Some days, it feels like I traded one kind of burnout for another — and somewhere in the middle of all the to-do’s and roles, I forgot that I’m not just a worker… I’m a woman. A mother. A visionary.
And I’ve realized:
Even when the business isn’t earning yet, my time still has value
Even if others don’t acknowledge it, God sees every hour I give
I don’t need to earn my worth — I just need to protect it
If you’ve ever felt like “free labor” in your own home, your own business, your own mission — you’re not alone. But please know:
💛 You’re allowed to rest.
💛 You’re allowed to ask for support.
💛 You’re allowed to be more than just “doing.”
I still believe in the vision. I believe the harvest is coming. But I will no longer pour from an empty cup. I choose:
✅ Focus over busyness
✅ Purpose over pressure
✅ Worth over burnout
And above all, I trust that God sees what others overlook — and He honors the unseen labor.
“God is not unjust; He will not forget your work and the love you have shown Him as you have helped His people and continue to help them.” — Hebrews 6:10 🙏
To anyone else walking this road: Don’t lose yourself in the building. You are not free labor — you are a visionary. You’re allowed to rest, to reset, and to rise again stronger.
Keep going, mama. Even the unseen work is sacred. 🌸
