Kada tapok-tapok sa pamilya, dili jud sipyat ang linya sa akong Iyaan.

​"Hapit na ka molapas sa calendar, Day. Panganak na para naay moatiman nimo inig tiguwang nimo," ingon pa niya samtang seryoso kaayo’g nawong.

​I just shook my head. Ingon ana diay na? Mag-anak ta para lang naay "insurance policy" puhon? Dili man gud na ingon ana para nako.

​Dili jud ko ganahan magka-anak, period. Daghan pa ko’g gustong buhaton sa akong kinabuhi. Tan-awa ra gud ang akong uban kaila. Kaluoy tan-awon, sige’g anak bisag nagkalisod na—ang ending, manghulam na lang bisag kinsa para lang naay ikapalit og gatas o bugas. Halos wala na silay katarong og kaon, stress na kaayo ang nawong, pero sige gihapon og dugang. Is that a blessing? Para nako, kalisod man na.

​Wala koy problema sa mga ginikanan nga responsable, pero ako? Dili nako kaya. Maglisod man gani ko og kaon usahay kay picky eater ko, maghilak pa gani ko kung dili matuman akong gusto. Unsaon na lang kung naay bata nga nagdepende nako? Dili nako kaya ang responsibilidad.

​"Auntie," tubag nako, "I’m happy for you kung okay na mo sa inyong life nga naay anak. Pero ako, cannot be jud. Dili nako gusto maagian ang kalisod sa pagka-mama. Gusto nako og kalinaw."

​Ni hilom sila. Wala sila kasabot nga ang pag-ingon og "dili" kay pag-atiman pud na sa akong kaugalingon. Choice nako ni, ug wala koy mahimo kung dili sila ganahan. My life, my rules.

There were times I really questioned Lord, "Ngano ako man?" feel nako ako ra jud isa murag gi dat'ogan sa kalibutan nga puro kalisod ang sitwasyon. But I learned that you just have to wait and trust His timing. If you feel behind or exhausted, take a breath and just pray.

​Learn to clap for others while waiting for your own turn. Look at me now peaceful and happy because Lord finally answered my "When kaya?" moments.

Lesson learned: Ayaw pag dali, kay wala ta nag lumba!

They call me many things—way naabot, ngil-ad og batasan, walay grado. They see the 'failure' but they never see the provider who chose her family over her dreams. Wala man ko ka graduate, pero ang garbo nako kay ang akong mga igsoon—makahuman sila tungod sa akong singot ug paningkamot. You mock my looks, my past, and my 'lack of achievement,' not knowing the prayers and tears it took for me to just survive.

​I’ve stayed silent for a long time out of respect, pero ayaw intawon ninyo kalimti nga ang respeto, ginatrabaho na, dili na pinugos. If you think I’m the 'bad' one just because I speak my truth, then so be it. I’m happy for your children’s success, truly. But before you point fingers at my character or my father’s, check your own reflection first. Basin sa sige ninyog pangguba nako, wala na ninyo nabantayan ang inyong kaugalingon.
