Polangui, Albay, may soon join the ranks of key cities hosting Philippine Science High School (PSHS) campuses, as it is listed among priority sites in the newly enacted Expanded Philippine Science High School System Act (RA 12130).

Alongside other locations such as Aklan, Bohol, Ilocos Norte, and South Cotabato, Polangui aims to boost STEM education accessibility across the nation. The law seeks to expand PSHS’s reach and improve management, ensuring excellence in academics, research, and innovation nationwide.

Established in 1963, PSHS continues its mission to nurture the country’s brightest young minds in science and technology through free, scholarship- based secondary education. This development positions Polangui as a potential center of STEM excellence in the Bicol Region, paving the way for future Filipino scientists and innovators.
