Hi everyone. I’m reaching out with a heavy heart. Maka sad sa akong part kay wala koy mabuhat para maka help sa situation.
There’s a young boy ( Around 7 or 10yo) who’s been sleeping/living outside a nearby 711 diri duol sa akong new apartment. Halos isa ka bulan na namo siya makita sa akong mga friends, most of the time matulog siya sa mismong portahan sa 711. Maka kaon2x siya if naay ipang tunol ang mga tao niya kasagaran mga students sa nearby school, ug ma timing naa siya pag mag 711 mi mu tunol pud kog pagkaon.
Last last night, while gina hulat ko sa akong friends kay dugay ko ni gawas sa Apartment, ilahang gi storya2x ang bata and according to them, ni tubag siya nga gibiyaan daw siya sa iyang ginikanan and mas okay radaw niya kay wala nay ga kulata niya. Abi man gud nako same ra siya aning nga bata nga naa pirmi sa 711 mag abre2x ug Portahan unya mangayo ug Money, he's different, wala siya naga pangayo, and he's not from the neighborhood.
Actually dugay nami gusto mag reach out pero every-time mu initiate kog conversation to ask mu dagan siya and makita jud sa iya ang signs of trauma. it's like he prefer being "Invisible" sa crowd, mas gusto niya dili siya tagaan ug attention. Akong assumptions is mas comfortable siya diha sa 711 kesa sa lugar kung asa siya gikan. Ulan, init, abog, buntag udto hapon, diha ra siya.
Out of concern, my friend tried to take a short video to report his situation to the proper authorities—but he got very scared and started saying “Ayaw ba, ayaw” (Please don’t). It was heartbreaking to witness and clearly shows signs of trauma.
I understood him and I am also aware of the Law that protects Children, I didn’t want to scare him further, so we backed off. Wala nako siya gi disturbo sa iyang situation and nilakaw nami leaving him with food.
But this child urgently needs help.
I’m new to this area and currently renting, so I don’t personally know who to approach. I also have a demanding work schedule, which makes it difficult for me to directly go to the DSWD or barangay hall.
That’s why I’m posting this here, in the hopes that someone connected to DSWD, the Barangay Council for the Protection of Children (BCPC), or even local social workers, can help look into this.
Please, if you know someone who can help or refer this to the right agency, send me a message or take action. Let’s not wait until it’s too late. 💔
No child should be living and sleeping on the streets.
