Loyalty for the 🤡
Morning Thought by Yours Truly, DJ Lala 🫰🏻👌💚
“𝐋𝐨𝐲𝐚𝐥𝐭𝐲 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐏𝐮𝐛𝐥𝐢𝐜 𝐒𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐢𝐜𝐞: 𝐀 𝐓𝐰𝐨-𝐖𝐚𝐲 𝐒𝐭𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐭”
Loyalty isn’t just about staying, it’s about knowing why you choose to stay.
You don’t stay loyal to someone just because they hold power. You stay loyal when that power is used with honesty, humility, and heart.
And when it comes to public service, loyalty should never be demanded, it should be earned.
Because a 𝐭𝐫𝐮𝐞 𝐩𝐮𝐛𝐥𝐢𝐜 𝐬𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐚𝐧𝐭 doesn’t pretend to help while taking more than they give. They don’t use your time, your talents, or your taxes, and then act like they’re doing you a favor. They don’t hide behind titles or ribbon cuttings, showcasing projects that were built with public funds, then call it “help” when they’re simply returning what was already yours.
Some have stayed in power for years, some, even decades. But when you look around, you start to wonder: “𝐀𝐧𝐨 𝐛𝐚 𝐭𝐚𝐥𝐚𝐠𝐚 𝐚𝐧𝐠 𝐧𝐚𝐠𝐚𝐰𝐚?”
No real change.
No lasting projects.
Nothing that truly lifts communities or changes lives.
Take time to reflect, especially if you haven’t in a while. Is the person you’re loyal to truly worthy of that loyalty? On what grounds? For what reason?
Are you staying loyal to someone who hasn’t delivered anything meaningful, but keeps ranting, taking credit, or counting favors, when in reality, doing their job shouldn’t be something we need to applaud every time?
That’s their role. That’s their 𝐝𝐮𝐭𝐲 as public servants.
So now we ask:
𝐀𝐫𝐞 𝐰𝐞 𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐛𝐞𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐬𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐞𝐝?
Or have we ended up serving them, without even realizing it?
Because if we’re not careful, we start treating them like masters, when the truth is, 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐲’𝐫𝐞 𝐬𝐮𝐩𝐩𝐨𝐬𝐞𝐝 𝐭𝐨 𝐬𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐞 𝐮𝐬.
Being a public servant means having no hidden agenda. It means being loyal to the people, not to money, not to pride, not to personal gain.
It means remembering that your position exists because of the people, not the other way around.
So before we give our loyalty to leaders,
let’s take a step back and ask:
𝐀𝐫𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐲 𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐲 𝐬𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐮𝐬… 𝐨𝐫 𝐣𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝐮𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐮𝐬?
Because true service earns true loyalty.
And real loyalty?
𝐈𝐭 𝐚𝐥𝐰𝐚𝐲𝐬 𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐬 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐭𝐫𝐮𝐭𝐡.
👉 A simple rule—
but only a few truly live by it.
Because it’s easier to pretend to serve than to actually sacrifice for others.
