He isn't just clinging to it for dear life anymore. He is literally using it as a home base while he struts around on two legs like the absolute main character he is.
After surviving all the crazy drama on Monkey Mountain from the older macaque bullies to that terrifying pond incident seeing him stand up tall with this much swagger is exactly the update we needed today. That little bipedal power walk in the bottom panels? Pure boss energy. He knows he has the best caretakers and the entire internet protecting him, and his confidence is absolutely skyrocketing.
