Pero pagdating sa problematic jokes? 📉
Hindi pwedeng selective ang accountability.
Kung kino-call out natin ang mga public officials kapag may maling ginagawa, dapat ganun din ang standard natin sa celebrities at influencers.
Progressive views on one issue don’t automatically erase harmful behavior on another.
R**e jokes are not comedy.
Racist jokes are not comedy.
Body shaming is not comedy.
Humiliation disguised as humor is still harmful.
Hindi porke’t maraming natatawa, ibig sabihin tama na.
You can advocate for equality and still be called out when your jokes reinforce stereotypes or target someone’s race, appearance, or dignity. The two can exist at the same time.
Accountability isn’t canceled out by popularity. And being right on politics doesn’t give anyone a lifetime pass to be wrong everywhere else.
Kung gusto nating umunlad ang public discourse, dapat pare-pareho ang standards natin—kahit sino pa ang involved.
