We used to have a year-ender activities.
A year-end party.
A year-end climb.
A year-end something — anything —
to say we survived this year together.
Now the year just bleeds into the next one.
No celebration.
No pause.
No closure.
Just tired bodies still showing up.
Just dreams quietly downgraded to “maybe next year.”
Just people pretending they’re okay
because stopping feels expensive.
We don’t even end the year anymore —
we escape it.
And somehow, no one talks about how heavy that is.
Maybe growing up isn’t gaining more —
maybe it’s losing the moments
that told us we were alive.
If you’re ending this year with nothing but exhaustion,
this is your reminder:
You didn’t fail.
You endured.
And that still counts.🌼🫶
