Today was a big day for Ysa. She had her aided test, and the results were beyond what anyone expected. From a severe hearing loss, Ysa’s hearing now falls somewhere between mild and normal hearing loss, right on the boundary of the two. It was a huge improvement that brought a lot of hope to our family and everyone who's been supporting her.
When the doctor saw the results, he was pleased but reminded us that Ysa is still under observation with her hearing aids. The doctor stressed that we have to monitor how she does with these aids, especially when she takes the aided test again in May next year. The key now is to stay consistent with her speech therapy, as it's crucial not just for her language development but also for determining how much benefit Ysa is getting from her hearing aids.
The doctor also shared that, for now, there's no need for an implant since Ysa is doing well with the hearing aids. He advised that we keep focusing on her speech therapy and communication skills before making any further decisions. This was comforting to hear, as it means there's still hope that the hearing aids will work for her in the long term.
As many of you know, we’ve been fundraising for Ysa's journey and is still ongoing. This has been a decision made with the guidance of the doctors and everyone who supports Ysa since the amount of it is beyond our control, and while we’re still uncertain about the future, we’re cautiously optimistic. We’re hoping that Ysa will continue to progress and, hopefully, won’t need to consider an implant in the future.
We want to assure you that the money donated for Ysa will be kept for her treatment and needs. Your generosity means the world to us, and it’s a great comfort knowing that we’re all in this together. Thank you for your continued support, and we’ll keep you updated on her progress. Here’s to hoping for even more good news ahead for Ysa! 🙏🏻❤️
