Part 2 - The Chona Mae Tsunami Stampede

There were massive dust made by the footsteps of the people who we're in panic because they heard someone shouted that there is tsunami.

But the main story was, it wasn't an alarm from the fish port of Toril, but rather someone shouted tsunami, and since we are bisaya here in Mindanao, our pronunciation is very hard.

And so, that mother who was looking for her daughter Chona Mae shouting and was misinterpreted by the people for Tsunami.

And that triggered the mass panic from Toril fishport, Daliao to upper Piedad by foot.

Part 1 - The Chona Mae Tsunami Stampede

It was around October of 2019 that has a lot of earthquake in Mindanao, Philippines.

And during this specific day there was a massive wave of people running towards me. It feels like a scene from The Lion King when simba was ran by a hoard of bulls.

Literally during this time, its my first time to hear large crowd of footsteps running towards me.

People were literally like a mob of zombies running and my mind wasn't able to process whats happening.

And so.. without having a second thought, I also ran even if I don’t know whats the reason to ran away into the opposite direction.

I thought there we're riots or a police chase. But with this huge number of people running towards me, I ran 5km without breaking a sweat.

Outdo yourself. 🔥

A year and a half ago, I crossed this 21K finish line.

Looking back at this video today, I am reminded of one powerful truth: It is easy to start, but finishing what you started is where the real satisfaction lies.

A half marathon isn't just a physical test. Along the way, you face trials, doubts, and emotional breakdowns.

But running teaches you about discipline, resilience, and the power of finishing strong—lessons that still apply directly to my daily life today.

It is easy to launch a new project or chase a new dream.

The real magic happens in how you push through the hard parts and cross your personal finish lines.
