CARD Indogrosir opens 100th branch in Cavite to continue empowering local sari-sari stores

CARD Indogrosir Inc., the grocery distributor arm of CARD MRI in partnership with Indonesia’s Salim group, opened its 100th branch in Trece Martires, Cavite on July 31, 2026, serving local households and microentrepreneurs.

As commercial convenience stores and shopping marts continue to expand across urban communities, CARD Indogrosir’s 100th store is strategically located in Trece Martires to help sari-sari store owners stay competitive. By providing wholesale products at lower prices, the branch expects to serve over 2,000 sari-sari store owners and other related businesses in the area.

Sari-sari stores remain essential to daily Filipino life, offering tingi (small-quantity) purchases and informal credit for families trying to stretch tight budgets. Beyond convenience, these neighborhood stalls also serve as vital social hubs for local communities.

“Sari-sari stores remain the heartbeat of the Filipino neighborhood,” said CARD Indogrosir Executive Vice President Frederick Nicasio Torres. “We have supported them for a long time, and we will continue doing so because they are the backbone of local economies. They sustain the communities around them.”

To help store owners restock more easily and purchase inventories at lower prices, CARD Indogrosir offers digital ordering and direct doorstep delivery through the CARD Ottokonek app.

“Reaching our 100th branch in just three years allows us to respond more deeply to the needs of local microentrepreneurs,” shared CARD Indogrosir Business Development Head Jeffrey Rilles. “When we help sari-sari stores, mobile vendors, and local food carts thrive by giving them the support to stand tall against competition, we are helping build resilient, self-sustaining local economies across our communities. ”

Beyond this, CARD MRI also provides financial services to give store owners access to capital and business loans, helping them grow and stand their ground against larger retail chains.

CARD Indogrosir Executive Vice President Mr. Frederick Nicasio Torres, Distribution Center Head Pak Sayed Maksalmina, and CARD Ottokonek General Manager and Business Development Head Jeffrey Rilles led the branch opening. CARD MRI Managing Director Mr. Aristeo A. Dequito and Trece Martires Mayor Gemma Lubigan, along with other representatives from the local government unit, graced this important milestone.

During the opening, the branch offers Buy 1 Take 1 deals on selected products. It holds program activities such as Zumba dancing, free product tastings, and an afternoon caravan of raffle games.

Since opening its pioneer store in San Rafael, San Pablo City, Laguna in 2023, CARD Indogrosir has expanded its stores across the CALABARZON, Bicol Region, and Oriental Mindoro. The 100th branch is located at Lot 3341 D-2-E, Marcius Avenue, Barangay Lapidario, Trece Martires, Cavite, and is open to walk-in wholesale shoppers and the general public. Three designers. Three opening walks. And one young idol who is quietly becoming a familiar face at the front of Vietnam's fashion runways.

At Vietnam Wedding Week 2026, Dylan of UPRIZE stepped out as the first face for Luu Viet Anh's FALVAON presentation, VÀNG ẢNH VÀNG ANH. It was a brief moment in the spotlight, but not an isolated one. Before Luu Viet Anh, Dylan had already opened shows for Chung Thanh Phong and Tran Hung. Three first-face moments later, the pattern is becoming difficult to ignore.

For a performer best known for the stage, music and the world of idol entertainment, the runway is opening up a different kind of spotlight. There is no microphone. No choreography to hide behind. Just the music, the lights and the first few seconds in which everyone in the room decides to look.

At Vietnam Wedding Week 2026, Dylan did more than make a celebrity appearance. He became the first image through which the audience entered one of the event's most story-driven collections.

THREE International Makes Philippine Entry in Davao, Holds Pre-Launch at ARIA Hotel

Davao City marked a milestone in the Philippine expansion of THREE International, a global wellness company built around the principles of People, Purpose, and Platform, as it held its Philippine pre-launch event at ARIA Hotel Davao on August 29.

The THREE International Philippine Pre-Launch was held in collaboration with Icon Elites Artist Management, headed by Pau Garcia, bringing together guests, prospective Brand Ambassadors, and members of the local creative and business community.

The gathering introduced THREE International’s global vision, wellness portfolio, and business platform, with Davao City becoming the first Philippine city to welcome the international brand.

A major highlight was the first visit to Davao City of Ms. Tess Relampagos, Global Ambassador of THREE International, who served as one of the featured speakers. Also featured was Dr. Evelyn F. Magno, who presented information on GLP-3 from a medical-professional perspective and discussed its relationship with THREE’s GLP-THREE.

“It’s Time for Davao to Be First”

The event highlighted THREE International’s growing global presence across North America, Asia-Pacific, and other markets. Presentations noted that the company opened 14 global markets on Day One in 2023, with distribution centers in Utah, Hong Kong, and Indonesia, among other expansion initiatives.

The Philippines was highlighted on THREE’s international map, with Davao taking the lead in the company’s Philippine entry.

The message of the pre-launch was clear: “It’s time for Davao to be first.”

Introducing THREE’s Wellness Portfolio

Guests were also introduced to THREE’s wellness portfolio, including its GLP THREE line and the company’s “Simple 6” everyday essentials:

Eternel — Master Antioxidant with Glutathione

Revive — Renewal and Recovery

Purifi — Gentle Whole Body Detox

Vitalite — Superfood Blend and Multivitamin Complex

Collagene — Youthful Skin
Marine Sourced

Imune — Total Body Immune Support

The products were presented as part of THREE’s broader whole-body wellness approach, with speakers emphasizing the importance of informed health and wellness choices.

People • Purpose • Platform

At the heart of THREE International is its People • Purpose • Platform philosophy—building community, encouraging meaningful personal goals and wellness, and providing an international e-commerce and direct-selling platform for Brand Ambassadors.

The collaboration with Icon Elites Artist Management, headed by Pau Garcia, also highlighted the potential intersection of wellness, entrepreneurship, and the creative industry, bringing together an international wellness platform and Davao’s growing pool of artists and talents.

For Davao, the August 29 gathering was more than a product and business presentation. It marked the first step of THREE International’s Philippine journey, bringing its global wellness vision and business opportunity to the country through Davao City.

As THREE moves toward its official Philippine launch, Davao proudly takes the lead as the city where THREE International first lands in the Philippines.(PR)

Taptap Send and GCash International expand easier, more accessible remittances for Filipinos in Bahrain

Overseas Filipinos in Bahrain can enjoy zero transfer fees on all remittances to the Philippines as a limited-time offer.

For many OFWs, sending money home helps cover everyday needs, from household expenses and education to healthcare and savings. To make remittances more accessible to Filipinos in Bahrain, Taptap Send has expanded its international network through a partnership with GCash, the Philippines’ #1 finance superapp and largest cashless ecosystem.

The partnership offers OFWs in Bahrain a seamless way to send money directly to GCash accounts. For a limited time, users can enjoy zero transfer fees (standard foreign exchange rates still apply).

The collaboration is part of broader efforts by GCash to work with accredited international partners to provide Filipinos abroad with safer, more convenient ways to send money home. Beyond Bahrain, the service will expand to the United States, including Hawaii (excluding Las Vegas), Canada, the United Kingdom, the United Arab Emirates, Australia, and select European countries including Austria, Belgium, Croatia, Cyprus, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, Malta, Mayotte, the Netherlands, Portugal, Réunion, Slovakia, Spain, Romania, Denmark, Norway, Czechia, Hungary, and Sweden.

“Our partnership with GCash allows us to make it even easier for overseas Filipinos to send money home through a trusted digital platform. By offering convenient transfers, competitive exchange rates, and zero transaction fees in supported corridors, we want to help OFWs make every remittance count and stay connected to the people who matter most,” said Faye Sta. Ana-Corpuz, Taptap Send Head of the Philippines Growth and SEA Expansion.

GCash partnership with Taptap Send brings overseas Filipinos in Bahrain closer to home with zero transfer fees straight to their GCash wallets

The partnership also highlights the importance of using official and accredited remittance channels, which provide greater transaction security and traceability while reducing risks associated with unaccredited or difficult-to-trace intermediaries.

“At GCash, we recognize the important role remittances play in helping Filipino families manage their everyday needs and build a more secure financial future. By working with trusted international partners like Taptap Send, we are expanding access to safe, convenient, and reliable ways for Filipinos abroad to send money home while strengthening their connection to the Philippines,” shared GCash International Vice President for International Payments, Carlos Bauza.

For overseas Filipinos in Bahrain, sending money to GCash through TapTap Send is straightforward:
1.Open the Taptap Send app and select Philippines as the destination
2.Choose GCash as the delivery method
3.Enter the recipient’s registered GCash mobile number; the number should start with a Philippine (+63) or Bahrain (+973)
4.Ensure the number is correct and complete the transaction

The collaboration reflects the growing role of digital financial services in helping overseas Filipinos stay connected with their families and communities in the Philippines, while making cross-border remittances more accessible, secure, and convenient.

SUCCESS ROOTED IN GRIT

To most people, cassava is just a basic staple crop. But for Randel J. Perez and his family from Dapdap West, Tagaytay City, the root crop in their backyard became their primary source of income.

Randel worked as a store merchandiser, while his wife served as a cashier. They were earning just enough to meet their family's daily needs. But when the pandemic hit, everything changed.

When nationwide lockdowns kept everyone indoors, Randel and his family found themselves stuck at home. Looking around their backyard, they noticed their flourishing cassava plants. Randel harvested the root crops, carefully peeled and thinly sliced them, and fried them until crisp.

It just started as a simple kitchen experiment, then quickly turned into their signature flavored cassava chips. At first, their market was small. They packed the chips into simple bags and sold them to former workmates and friends.

To stand out from typical snacks, they experimented with various savory seasonings. They gained positive feedback, and people started to love their flavored cassava chips.

Motivated by the early support, Randel and his wife decided to go all-in. They personally deliver their chips to local pasalubong centers and tourist spots around Tagaytay. They also set up tables during regional bazaars and partnered with school canteens.

Recognizing the growing shift toward digital shopping, they also brought their product online, which boosted orders far beyond their community.

The road ahead, however, was far from easy. The sales went up and down, bulk orders took hours to prepare manually, and daily distribution was a constant battle.

"Para makapaghatid ng mga order, nagkabit ako ng slab or patungan na gawa sa kahoy sa likod ng aking motorsiklo upang maibalanse ko ang mga bag ng cassava chips," Randel recalls. (To deliver orders, I attached a wooden slab onto the back of my motorcycle to balance stacks of cassava chip bags). Rain or shine, he navigated the winding roads of Tagaytay to reach his customers.

Despite all the challenges, their grit and determination began to pay off. Eventually, they saved enough profit to purchase a jeepney, which made their product distribution safer, faster, and able to handle much larger volumes.

As demand grew, so did their need for capital. Randel became a client of CARD SME Bank, Inc., a thrift bank under CARD Mutually Reinforcing Institution (CARD MRI) that supports micro, small, and medium entrepreneurs, securing loans to finance both family and business needs.

With the bank's help, the couple was able to invest in production machinery to upgrade their manual tools. This shift allowed them to increase their daily production, helping meet customers' demand without sacrificing product quality and flavor.

Today, Randel and his wife continue to manage their business. Their flavored cassava chips have now become one of the local favorite chips across Tagaytay City's markets and pasalubong centers.

With their faith, resourcefulness, and relentless hard work, even a backyard crop can yield a life-changing success.(PR)

COCA-COLA SUPPORTS LOCAL WASTE MANAGEMENT EFFORT IN SULOP AND MATANAO

DAVAO DEL SUR — In keeping with its commitment to helping build more sustainable communities, Coca-Cola Europacific Aboitiz Philippines (CCEAP) has partnered with the Municipalities of Sulop and Matanao in Davao del Sur to enhance local waste management and recycling efforts. Through CCEAP’s Tapon to Ipon program, the turnover of a baling machine to each municipality will help the collection, storage, and transport of clear PET plastic bottles for recycling.

The partnership was formalized during a ceremony led by CCEAP Regulatory & Sustainability Compliance Manager Atty. Chrissete Agustin and CCEAP Stakeholder Relations Associate Manager Vanesa Calixto. Representing Mayor Atty. Jose Jimmy Sagarino of the Municipality of Sulop was Municipal Environment and Natural Resources Office (MENRO) Officer Lailanie Calvario. Mayor Irick Agbon of the Municipality of Matanao was represented by MENRO Environmental Management Specialist II Dona Dalapo, along with representatives from the Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Office (PENRO) Officer II Jobelle Rubin and Community Development Assistant II May Jugan.

"We are proud to be among the LGUs championing the collection and diversion of PET bottles in Davao del Sur, a testament to our community’s collective efforts toward responsible waste management," said Hon. Atty. Jose Jimmy Sagarino, Municipal Mayor of Sulop. "We consider this initiative a significant step in strengthening our partnership with Coca-Cola as we continue working together to foster a more sustainable community for our residents. Isa ka tinguha, usa ka lihok, kalambuan sa tanan (One aspiration, one action, progress for all)," added Mayor Sagarino.

"We believe in the power of partnerships between the public and private sectors in building effective waste management and recycling systems. The baling machine is a valuable contribution that will help bolster our environmental protection and solid waste management programs, particularly by improving the recovery of recyclable materials such as PET bottles. We are thankful to CCEAP for their support and look forward to empowering our local teams as we advance our vision of a cleaner, greener, and more resilient Matanao,” said Hon. Irick Agbon, Municipal Mayor of Matanao.

The partnerships with Sulop and Matanao build on CCEAP's long-standing collaboration with local governments across the Davao region to advance PET bottle recovery and recycling. In 2023, Coca-Cola partnered with the Provincial Government of Davao del Sur to help clear large-scale stockpiles of PET bottles and divert them for recycling. Large volumes of PET bottles have also been collected from the Island Garden City of Samal and the municipality of Baganga in Davao Oriental.

"At Coca-Cola, we believe that access to efficient waste management infrastructure plays an important role in accelerating local circular economy objectives," said Atty. Juan Lorenzo Tañada, CCEAP VP for Corporate & Regulatory Affairs. “With the support of a baling machine, we hope to support more communities with the tools needed to optimize collection and recycling capabilities," added Atty. Tañada.

As CCEAP continues its collection and recycling initiatives across the country, it remains committed to working with partners across sectors to strengthen recovery systems, keep valuable materials in circulation, and ensure that more PET bottles are collected, recycled, and given new life.

MAGO BRINGS SAILOR MOON MAGIC TO Kadayawan Expo 2026

Opening vibrant new chapter for Davao’s rising cover group

Davao-based five-member cover group MAGO added a dose of music, color, and pop-culture magic to the opening of the Kadayawan Business Expo 2026 at the SMX Convention Center Davao on August 17.

The group’s opening-day performance marked another milestone in MAGO’s growing journey, showcasing its evolving identity as a performance group that blends music, creativity, personality, and visual storytelling.

At the center of the presentation was the launch of MAGO’s newest “Sailor Moon” cover, bringing the beloved pop-culture franchise to the stage through an energetic and colorful performance. The concept gave the group an opportunity to explore a fresh creative direction while maintaining the lively presence that has become part of MAGO’s identity.

But the Sailor Moon feature was only part of the musical treat. MAGO also performed their fun covers of legendary hits from ILLIT and Orange Caramel, adding variety and excitement to the set while highlighting the group’s versatility as a cover act.

For MAGO, the appearance was more than simply another performance. It represented a step forward in establishing the group’s presence in Davao’s entertainment and community scene. Each stage appearance gives the members an opportunity to connect with audiences while developing their own creative identity.

The five-member group continues to build its name through performances that combine music with distinctive concepts and visual elements. The Sailor Moon-themed presentation, in particular, reflected MAGO’s interest in creating memorable experiences rather than simply performing songs.

Performing at the Kadayawan Expo also placed MAGO before a wider audience during one of Davao’s most anticipated celebrations. Their colorful presence complemented an event that brings together business, culture, creativity, and community.

As MAGO continues its journey, the Kadayawan Business Expo opening becomes another chapter in the group’s growing story—a chapter filled with music, imagination, youthful energy, and a little bit of Sailor Moon magic.

For MAGO, the stage is more than a place to perform. It is a space to create, connect, and bring their own brand of magic to every audience.

VIETNAM WEDDING WEEK 2026 OPENS “THE LOVE CITY”, UNITING BRIDAL FASHION, ARTISTS AND THE WEDDING ECOSYSTEM IN HO CHI MINH CITY

Ho Chi Minh City, August 2026 – Vietnam Wedding Week 2026 will officially take place on 22–23 August 2026 at White Palace Hoang Van Thu, opening The Love City — a “city of love” where bridal fashion, brands, experts, vendors and experiences for couples come together.

Positioned as a comprehensive and practical wedding week, Vietnam Wedding Week 2026 goes beyond providing inspiration for the big day. It creates a journey that allows couples to directly explore, experience, meet experts and move closer to real choices for their wedding.

At the heart of the event is Bridal Fashion Show 2026, one of its key highlights, bringing together a number of Vietnamese bridal fashion designers and brands, alongside artists taking on special roles on the runway.

THE LOVE CITY – WHEN EVERY WEDDING NEED BECOMES A DESTINATION
Inspired by the rhythm of an ever-moving city, The Love City transforms the entire Vietnam Wedding Week into a journey of discovery.

From the check-in area and bridal fashion runway to brand experience zones, workshops, consultations and interactive activities, each space is designed as a different “destination” within the city.

Here, visitors can explore everything from wedding gowns, suits, beauty, jewelry, venues, décor and photography to wedding planning, as well as services and products connected to the journey beyond the wedding day.

Rather than simply viewing beautiful images or searching for inspiration across multiple, disconnected platforms, couples can see, try, ask, compare, receive advice and meet brands — all within a single journey.

This is the practical spirit that Vietnam Wedding Week 2026 seeks to deliver: bringing wedding inspiration closer to real choices.

BRIDAL FASHION SHOW 2026 – BRIDAL FASHION BECOMES THE HEARTBEAT OF THE LOVE CITY
One of the major highlights of this year’s Vietnam Wedding Week is the Bridal Fashion Show 2026, where diverse expressions of bridal fashion come together on a single runway.

Names featured in this year’s event include Do Long Bridal, Lam Bridal, Minh Tuan Couture, Le Hoa Bridal, LOVINE Bridal, FALVAON Bridal, ADAM STORE, alongside other brands and designers within the bridal fashion ecosystem.

Each brand represents its own perspective on the contemporary bride and groom.

Do Long Bridal brings a sensual, sophisticated and highly performative spirit, distinguished by silhouettes that accentuate the body, corsetry techniques and intricate embellishment.

Lam Bridal, under the direction of designer Tam Lam, pursues a minimalist and contemporary design language, combining corset structures with restrained sensuality to celebrate the wearer’s natural beauty.

Minh Tuan Couture brings the spirit of couture and red-carpet glamour into the wedding setting through spectacular, sophisticated and highly theatrical designs.

Le Hoa Bridal presents explorations of silhouettes, structures and materials, continuing to expand the aesthetic choices available to the modern bride.

Meanwhile, FALVAON Bridal, by designer Luu Viet Anh, presents the VÀNG ẢNH VÀNG ANH collection, inspired by the Vietnamese folk tale Tam Cam, placing traditional Vietnamese materials and details alongside a contemporary design language.

The presence of LOVINE Bridal, ADAM STORE and other names further expands the bridal fashion landscape, from bridal couture to menswear, from a romantic spirit to new approaches to the image of today’s bride and groom.

The shows are set within the emotional flow of The Love City, where the runway is not simply a space for fashion presentation, but becomes part of the overall wedding experience for visitors.

WHEN MUSIC TAKES THE RUNWAY
Beyond bringing together bridal fashion, Bridal Fashion Show 2026 expands the runway experience through a combination of fashion, music and performance.

2PILLZ joins as Music Producer for the Runway, while also presenting a Special Performance at Bridal Fashion Show 2026. Music becomes a continuous layer throughout the shows, helping shape the rhythm and emotion of the runway.

On 22 August, THƠM (Da LAB) will appear as a Special Runway Performance, bringing music into the movement of fashion and creating a distinctive point of connection between performance and the bridal runway.

On 23 August, NAOMI will deliver another Special Runway Performance, contributing to an experience in which sound, fashion and stage come together within a shared space.

This combination takes the Bridal Fashion Show beyond the format of a traditional fashion show, moving towards a more complete performance experience where each collection can be expressed through design, movement, lighting and music.

FROM THE RUNWAY TO REAL CHOICES FOR THE WEDDING DAY
The distinctive feature of Vietnam Wedding Week is that the journey does not end when the models leave the runway.

Following the collections, visitors can continue exploring brands through gown fittings, style consultations, beauty & styling, jewelry, photography, wedding planning, venues, décor, F&B, travel and a range of other services for the wedding journey.

Alongside the runway is a series of workshops and experiential activities, where experts share practical knowledge around wedding preparation — from choosing a bridal style, bridal beauty and fashion to destination weddings, wedding planning and other important decisions.

The exhibition booths also serve not only as display spaces, but as places where visitors can experience products directly, receive consultations, discover offers and connect with brands that suit their needs.

Through this approach, Vietnam Wedding Week seeks to connect two worlds that are often separated: inspiration and decision.

A NEW MEETING POINT FOR VIETNAMESE FASHION AND THE WEDDING INDUSTRY
With the participation of designers, bridal houses, brands, experts, artists and industry professionals, Vietnam Wedding Week 2026 aims to create a meeting point between fashion, the wedding industry and the real needs of consumers.

For couples, The Love City is a place where they can arrive with many questions and leave with clearer choices for their wedding day.

For brands and vendors, this is not only an opportunity to be present before visitors, but also an opportunity to become part of the decision-making journey of couples who are actively preparing for marriage.

And for Vietnamese bridal fashion, the Bridal Fashion Show creates another space where different design languages can be introduced, meet the public and move from the runway into real life.

Vietnam Wedding Week 2026 warmly welcomes couples, industry professionals, media and fashion enthusiasts to step into The Love City on 22–23 August 2026. # # #
