Isa sa mga nindot nga features sa mga low-entry city bus kay isa lang ka tikangan ang pagsakay sailaha. Dili napud kinahanglan nga magduko pa.

Pabor kini sa mga edaran na o sa mga bata. Aduna pud kiniy retractable ramp para makasakay ang mga wheelchair.

Puhon, ingani na nga mga city bus ang mang-byahe sa Dabaw. 10 karong Oktubre sa DC Bus, ug 1,000+ karong 2027-2028 sa DavaoBus!

Interesting Fact: Paquibato District alone (662.42 sq. km) is bigger than Metro Manila (636 sq. km) in terms of total land area.

As a follow-up on the post of Davao Portal, Davao City's land area is quadrupled that of Metro Manila. You could theoretically fit the entire area of Metro Manila in the Paquibato Administrative District of Davao City.

One of the longest jeepney route of Davao City, albeit rare, the Marahan to Roxas Avenue is almost a whopping 67 kilometers! Its almost 3 times the length of EDSA. Even urban city routes within the city is equal to passing through several cities in Metro Manila.

To think of it, Davao is the best pilot test for a High Priority Bus System for the country. It has an enormous area bigger than Metro Manila and Metro Cebu combined, but only a tenth of their combined population.

Kadayawan Festival is fast approaching, and so is the start of classes for some of the colleges and universities in Davao City.

Here are the following higher education institutions that will start the 1st term of their AY 2025-2026 in the month of August. In the following weeks, most, if not all, of the HEIs will have already started their classes.

And luckily for Dabawenyo students and commuters, the 10 city bus units of the Interim Bus Service are expected to be deployed by October. The City Government of Davao's aid to the commuting situation in the city.

The construction for the Garage of the Davao Interim Bus Service is now ongoing. The buses themselves are expected to arrive by September. And the procurement for the additional Bus Stops is now ongoing.

Rest assured that help is arriving for Dabawenyo commuters. Wishfully by October, the DIBS with its 10 city buses will come to the aid during rush hours. Although it may not be sufficient, it will still provide great help. Especially with the upcoming holiday rush.

DIBS or DavaoBus is a provisional bus service initiated by the City Government of Davao while the Davao High Priority Bus System or DavaoBus' operations is 2-3 years away.

Patience lang sa gyud mga Dabawenyos!

Peak Hours Augmentation Bus Service (PHABS) in Action. (Roxas Ave. to Toril)

Despite the rush hour traffic, commuting is still comfortable thanks to the ride on an air-conditioned bus of Land Car Inc. This unit is one of the dozens contracted by the City Government of Davao to serve the PHABS Toril Route.

"Bahala na magtindog, aircon man pud, ug basta makauli lang."

This is the common line for those who opt to stand inside the bus. This also shows the dire need for transport augmentation services and the urgency of the implementation of the DavaoBus Project.

Soon, these units will be complemented by the 10 low-entry city buses of the DC Bus. And in 2-3 years time, the 1,000 buses of the DavaoBus!

There are now 2 free bus ride services in Davao City. The first is provided by the Office of the Vice President of the Philippines, which started in 2022. The latest addition is the Libreng Sakay of the Department of Transportation which started last week.

But in September or October this year, the 10 Yutong city buses acquired by the City Government of Davao for its Interim Bus Service is expected to to be deployed too. It will offer free rides initially.

The Peak Hours Augmentation Bus Service does not offer free fare, but is contracted and subsidized by the Davao City LGU.
