“I used to sell homemade yema candy in school… and now I help ecommerce brands grow online. My journey started long before I knew what ecommerce was.”
When I was young, I used to help my grandma run her small sari-sari store in our neighborhood. One of the products she sold was yema candy, and being around her business taught me valuable lessons, how every customer matters and how much dedication it takes to keep her business going.
In elementary and high school, I started making my own homemade yema candy and selling it to my classmates. It was my small way of helping my mom support my daily needs.
Then in college, I became a working student and worked part-time in a department store as a sales associate in the shoe section. This experience taught me the reality of running a business. The effort of keeping products organized and eye-catching, and the dedication required to deliver an excellent customer experience.
Over the years, I explored different opportunities and career paths. But somehow, my heart always found its way back to business and entrepreneurship.
That’s when I realized something:
My purpose is to help entrepreneurs grow their businesses.
Today, as a Shopify & Amazon Product Listing and Research Specialist, I support ecommerce brands by helping their products get discovered, organized, and positioned for growth. And every time I help a business move forward, I remember where it all started.
Helping businesses thrive isn’t just work for me. It’s something that genuinely makes me and my younger self happy. 💙
