Bringing SSS Services Closer: Celebrating Judiciary Month

In a commitment to bring essential services directly to the people, the Social Security System (SSS) is actively participating in the celebration of Judiciary Month this June 2026. Through the "SSS e-Wheels in Courts" initiative, the agency is bridging the gap between social security services and the judiciary sector.

This program, currently hosted at the Department of Justice - Provincial Prosecution Office in Tagum, is designed to provide convenient access to a wide range of SSS services for both judiciary personnel and the public.

During this activity, the following services are available:

• SSS number issuance
• my.SSS registration
• PRN generation
• Loan applications
• Benefit claims assistance
• ACOP (Annual Confirmation of Pensioners)

SSS continues to fulfill its promise of Sa SSS, Sigurado ang bukas (With SSS, the future is secure), ensuring that professional support is accessible to those who need it most.

This initiative is made possible through the collaborative efforts of key personnel:

Mindanao South Legal Department: Managed by Atty. Chik Bolo-Escovilla, with Atty. Althea Astrid G. Brisson.

Tagum Branch Team: Headed by Imelda A. Guerra.

SSS Tagum Branch Officially Opens Full‑Time Maragusan Service
Office.

In a significant step toward enhancing service accessibility in Davao de Oro, the Social Security System (SSS) Tagum Branch formally inaugurated the SSS Maragusan Service Office through an inaugural blessing and ribbon‑cutting ceremony held on May 7, 2026, at the MAGROW MPC Compound in Maragusan, Davao de Oro.

The establishment of the Service Office is the culmination of a decade-long partnership between SSS Tagum and the Maragusan Growers Multipurpose Cooperative (MAGROW MPC). Driven by a shared mission to serve the people of Maragusan and neighboring municipalities, the new office eliminates the
need for members to travel over an hour to Tagum City, offering significant savings in time, money, and effort.

Originally established in 2015 as a Representative Office during the tenure of former Branch Head Jose Catoto, the Maragusan facility previously operated only two days a week. As transaction volumes increased and demand for SSS services continued to grow, the limited schedule proved insufficient to meet the needs of the community. Responsive to this growing demand, the SSS Tagum Branch undertook strategic measures to upgrade the facility into a full‑time Service Office operating daily from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday to Friday.

The conversion was spearheaded by Imelda A. Guerra, Branch Head II of SSS Tagum Branch, whose leadership and advocacy were instrumental in advancing the agency’s mandate to expand social security coverage to all sectors, including geographically isolated and underserved areas. The initiative was realized through the strong support of SSS management and the continued cooperation of MAGROW MPC.

During the ceremony, Gilbert Golo, General Manager of MAGROW MPC, expressed appreciation for the upgraded service office, citing its importance to a municipality with 24 barangays and a population exceeding 67,000, based on the 2024 census. He underscored that the daily operations of the Service Office now allow residents to register as new SSS members, reactivate inactive accounts, and access SSS services without the burden of traveling over an hour to Tagum City.

The inaugural ceremony was highlighted by a symbolic ribbon‑cutting led by senior SSS executives and local partners, including:

SSS Executives

• Lilani B. Benedian, MD – Senior Vice President, Mindanao Operations Group
• Mary Ellen A. Estoque – Vice President, Mindanao South 1 Division
• Imelda A. Guerra – Branch Head II, SSS Tagum Branch
• Emeralda N. Cruz – Junior Technical Assistant, representing Antonio S. Agrabioso, EVP for Branch Operations Sector

MAGROW MPC and Local Government

• Gilbert Golo – General Manager, MAGROW MPC, also representing Chairman Arcadio S. Sabella
• Maris Colina – Representative of Municipal Mayor Cesar C. Colina Sr.

The SSS Tagum–Maragusan Service Office is now fully operational and equipped to handle various SSS transactions. It is managed by a dedicated frontline team headed by Shiela C. Mangubat, Acting SSO III/Senior Member Service Representative, with support from James Bryan L. Bacaron, Junior Member Service Representative.

SSS Tagum and the 60th Infantry "Mediator" Battalion Formalize Partnership to Extend Social Security Coverage to CAFGUs

In line with its continuing efforts to expand social security coverage to underserved sectors, the Social Security System (SSS) Tagum Branch formally entered into a partnership with the 60th Infantry Battalion (60IB), 10th Infantry Division of the Philippine Army, through the signing of a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) under the KaSSSangga Collect Program
(KCP).

The MOA signing was held on May 7, 2026, at Camp Morgia, Asuncion, Davao del Norte. The partnership aims to provide social security protection to 1,062 Civilian Armed Forces Geographical Units (CAFGUs) and CAFGU Active Auxiliaries
(CAAs) under the 60IB, 10ID of the Philippine Army, ensuring their inclusion in the national social insurance system through SSS membership.

The partnership enables CAFGUs and CAAs serving under the 60IB to access SSS membership and benefits, addressing coverage gaps for auxiliary personnel not covered by conventional government insurance systems.

The MOA signing underscores the shared commitment of the SSS and the Philippine Army to promote the welfare and social protection of auxiliary forces who play a vital role in maintaining peace and security. The initiative was undertaken by the SSS Tagum Branch, headed by Imelda A. Guerra, Branch Head II, as part of the branch’s sustained advocacy to extend SSS
services to unserved and underserved sectors.

The ceremony was attended by key officials from both institutions, led by:

SSS Officials:

•Lilani B. Benedian, MD – Senior Vice President, Mindanao Operations Group
•Mary Ellen A. Estoque – Vice President, Mindanao South 1 Division
•Emeralda N. Cruz – Junior Technical Assistant, representing Antonio S. Agrabioso, EVP for Branch Operations Sector
•Imelda A. Guerra – Branch Head II, SSS Tagum Branch

60th Infantry Battalion Officials:

•Jesus L. Rosete, INF (GSC) PA – Commanding Officer, 60IB, 10ID, PA
•Roberto A. Escallon Jr., (INF) PA – Executive Officer, 60IB, 10ID, PA

The collaboration was driven in part by grassroots advocacy from Private First Class Elmer B. Dela Peña, whose personal experience underscored the importance of providing safety nets for auxiliary forces and their dependents. Stories shared during the event further demonstrated the tangible value of SSS protection in times of unforeseen hardship.

Through the KaSSSangga Collect Program, the SSS continues to affirm its mandate of inclusive social protection by extending coverage to workers across all sectors, including auxiliary and volunteer forces, ensuring that no worker—regardless of employment classification—is left without long‑term
protection. With this partnership, the CAFGUs of the 60th Infantry Battalion can carry out their duties with greater assurance, knowing their social security needs are protected by the SSS.
