A Letter About Trusting God When Life Doesn’t Make Sense

Verse for Today

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding.
In all your ways submit to Him, and He will make your paths straight.”
— Proverbs 3:5–6

Dear friend,

There are seasons when life asks questions it never answers.

Moments when you do everything right, pray sincerely, wait patiently—
and still end up asking, “Lord… why?”

I’ve been there.
We’ve been there.

There were times I prayed not for miracles, but for explanations.
For clarity.
For something—anything—that would make the pain make sense.

But heaven stayed quiet.

And in that silence, trusting God felt less like confidence
and more like a choice I had to make every single day.

I used to think trusting God meant understanding His plan.
But I’ve learned it often means trusting Him without understanding it.

We asked why—and didn’t get answers.
We asked when—and heard nothing back.
Yet somehow, in the middle of unanswered questions,
trust began to grow.

Not because things suddenly made sense,
but because God proved faithful even when they didn’t.

Looking back now, I see things more clearly.
Moments that once felt confusing now carry meaning.
Pain that felt pointless now carries purpose.

But back then?
All we had was trust.

If you’re reading this while standing in the middle of confusion,
I want you to know—you’re not weak for asking why.
You’re human.

And trusting God doesn’t mean pretending you’re okay.
It means choosing to place your heart in His hands
even when your mind is full of questions.

Clarity often comes later.
Trust begins now.

If you’re still waiting for answers,
hold on.

You may not see it today,
but one day you’ll look back and realize
God was guiding you
But one day you’ll look back and realize they didn’t.
