𝐖𝐄𝐄𝐊𝐋𝐘 𝐆𝐎𝐒𝐏𝐄𝐋 𝐑𝐄𝐅𝐋𝐄𝐂𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍

Reflection from the Class of Grade 12 - Our Lady of Lourdes (ABM & HUMSS)

The Gospel reminds us of the importance of being trustworthy stewards of what God has given us. Just as the steward in the story was called to give an account of his actions, we too will one day give an account of how we have used the time, talents, and blessings entrusted to us. Sometimes, our prayers are not answered in the way we expect. Instead of granting our requests directly, Jesus provides us with the instruments, opportunities, and people who can help us reach what we are praying for. It is a reminder that God’s ways are greater than our ways, and His answers often lead us to grow in patience, wisdom, and faith.

This Gospel also calls us to humility. Just as the steward had to face the reality of his situation, we too must admit our weaknesses and limitations before God. True humility allows us to trust more deeply in His guidance and to recognize that we are not the masters of our lives but caretakers of the gifts He has placed in our hands. In the passage, God gave us a clear message that we cannot serve to masters at the same time. Our loyalty must rest on God alone, using the blessings we have not for selfish gain but for service, compassion, and love.

Family Day 2025: A Celebration of Faith, Love, and Unity

On September 7, 2025, Saint Vincent Academy of Maragusan proudly revived one of its most cherished traditions—the Family Day. After years of absence, the occasion returned fuller, livelier, and more meaningful than ever before.

The celebration began in the morning with a vibrant motorcade, followed by a short program in the gymnasium. In her inspirational message, the School Directress/Principal, Sr. Bambina P. Lapara, O.P, reminded the Vincentian community of the deeper essence of the event:

“As we celebrate Family Day today, we feel the warmth of a shared journey of faith and love. In this moment, surrounded by one another, we come to understand the true power of connection and the beauty of growing, journeying, and supporting each other. The school is also your family, and so your concern for your children is also our concern. Together, let us collaborate in molding them into better, God-fearing individuals.”

The program featured entertaining intermission performances by faculty members from both the high school and elementary departments followed by the intermission number by the selected pupils from the elementary department, messages from speakers, and an exciting raffle draw that added enjoyment to the day’s festivities. Adding to the highlight of the event, the Board of Directors solemnly took their oath of office, affirming their commitment to work hand in hand with the school in the mission of forming the students holistically. Messages from speakers and an exciting raffle draw further added joy to the day’s festivities.

Despite the pouring rain on the afternoon part of the gathering, it did not stop the spirit of celebration, as the community’s commitment and enthusiasm allowed the program to continue with only minor adjustments.

More than just a gathering, the return of Family Day symbolized the enduring bond between parents, students, and school personnel. It stood as a testament to the Vincentian spirit that unity, joy, and faith can triumph over challenges and make every moment memorable.

As the celebration concluded, one truth resonated clearly: no matter how long Family Day had been absent, the Vincentian community never stopped yearning for its return. Family Day 2025 was indeed a celebration of joy, unity, and togetherness and one that will remain in the hearts of all who took part.

𝐉𝐎𝐇𝐍 𝟑:𝟏𝟑-𝟏𝟕

When Jesus speaks to Nicodemus, He is not simply sharing religious advice rather, He is unveiling the very heart of God’s plan for salvation. He tells us that no one has ascended to heaven except the one who came down from heaven meaning that His authority does not come from earthly wisdom, but from divine origin. Jesus came to teach us heavenly things, truths that challenge us to see life, suffering, and salvation in a new light.

The reference to Moses lifting up the serpent in the desert is deeply symbolic. In the Old Testament, the Israelites were healed by looking at the bronze serpent Moses raised on a pole. Jesus uses this image to foreshadow His own crucifixion He, too, will be “lifted up,” not to display power, but to offer healing and eternal life to those who believe. This act of being lifted up is not just about physical death buy it is about embracing suffering as a path to redemption. Through His sacrifice, Jesus transforms pain into purpose, and death into life.

One of the most quoted verses in Scripture follows: “For God so loved the world that He gave His only Son…” that reminds us the real foundation of Christian faith. It tells us that God’s love is not exclusive or conditional. It is unconditional, inclusive, and deeply personal. He did not send Jesus to judge nor condemn us, but to save us. That salvation is not reserved for the perfect or the powerful but it is offered to anyone who believes, regardless of background or brokenness.

The “eternal life” Jesus speaks of is not just about what happens after we die. It is a life that begins now is a life filled with meaning, grace, and transformation. It is the kind of life that allows us to face challenges with hope, to love more deeply, and to live with a sense of purpose that goes beyond temporary success or comfort. Eternal life is abundant life, rooted in faith and sustained by God’s love.

Just as Jesus embraced His cross, we are called to confront our own struggles. Not to be defeated by them, but to allow them to shape us into stronger, more faithful individuals. Salvation is not found in avoiding pain, but in walking through it with trust in God’s plan.

May this Gospel remind us that faith is not passive but it is a daily choice to believe, to trust, and to live with courage. Jesus did not come to make life easier; He came to make it meaningful. And through His love, we are invited into a life that is both eternal and transformative.

On Friday, September 5, 2025, the Vincentians wrapped up the first week of September with enjoyable games on the school campus. That morning, the Directress/Principal, Sr. Bambina P. Lapara, O.P., declared the day an “all-activity” day, encouraging students to participate in recreational activities as a refreshing break from the regular academic schedule. This one-day event not only provided students with a chance to have fun and relax but also strengthened teamwork and school spirit, reminding everyone that holistic formation extends beyond the classroom.

𝐇𝐚𝐩𝐩𝐲 𝐁𝐢𝐫𝐭𝐡𝐝𝐚𝐲, 𝐌𝐚𝐦𝐚 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐲!🩵

Today, on the 8th of September, we celebrate a special occasion in the Church: the Feast of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary. This day honors the birth of our Blessed Virgin Mary, who was born to Saints Joachim and Anne after years of prayer. Her birth was a beacon of hope and divine grace. Conceived without sin, Mary was destined from the beginning to embody love, humility, unwavering faith, and compassion.

As we celebrate Mother Mary's birthday, may her life of obedience and humility inspire us to embody kindness and devotion in all that we do.

Mama Mary, may your heavenly presence continue to guide and protect us. Please continue to intercede for us, leading us closer to your Son, Jesus Christ.

Happy birthday, Holy Mary, Mother of God! Pray for us!
