𝗤𝗖𝗻𝗘𝘄𝘀 | 𝗨𝗔𝗣 𝗤𝗖-𝗘𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗽𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗽𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝘁𝗼 𝗖𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗮𝗯𝗼𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗼𝗻 𝗭𝗼𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗢𝗿𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟱

The UAP QC-Elliptical Chapter, headed by Director for External Affairs Ar. Michael Ventura, recently met with Ar. Rouel Agpawa, Project Development Officer III of the Quezon City Local Government Unit (LGU) Zoning Administration Unit and also a Past Chapter President. The consultation aimed to gather suggestions and insights for the formulation and enhancement of the proposed Zoning Ordinance 2025.

This collaboration presents a crucial opportunity for architects with direct experience in navigating the current Zoning Ordinance to provide professional insights and constructive feedback. The Zoning Administration Unit, led by Mr. Michael Velasco, is specifically seeking input on real-world challenges, procedural bottlenecks, and inconsistencies in existing zoning policies.

The main goal of this initiative is to make the new ordinance clearer, more efficient, and more responsive to the city's evolving needs. The professional insights gathered from this consultation are expected to significantly contribute to creating a more streamlined and effective zoning framework for Quezon City.

𝗘𝗟𝗟𝗜𝗣𝗧𝗜𝗖𝗔𝗟 𝗦𝗣𝗢𝗧𝗟𝗜𝗚𝗛𝗧 | 𝗨𝗔𝗣 𝗤𝗖-𝗘𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗽𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗽𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗠𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘀 𝗦𝗵𝗮𝗽𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗡𝗲𝘅𝘁 𝗚𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻

The Angat Sining Arkitektura Internship Program concluded with an inspiring capstone project presentation and exhibit at the University of Nueva Caceres. The program, which focused on using empathetic architectural design to serve marginalized and last-mile communities, was guided by several esteemed mentors, including three from the United Architects of the Philippines (UAP) QC-Elliptical Chapter: Ar. Peach Buencamino, Ar. RB Biando, and Ar. Beth Regala.

Mentors like Ar. Peach Buencamino of C.C. Buencamino Architect, Ar. RB Biando, and Ar. Beth Regala were instrumental in shaping the interns’ perspective. Their guidance ensured that the participants’ designs were not merely technical, but were also rooted in the conviction that architecture has the power to restore dignity and create more humane living spaces.

The interns' capstone projects demonstrated this commitment, highlighting designs that serve those often excluded from traditional planning. This initiative was a testament to the mentors' belief that every architectural drawing is a choice to serve and an opportunity to include those who are usually left out.

The program was supported by several partners, including C.C. Buencamino Architect, the National University College of Architecture, and the United Architects of the Philippines National Headquarters. The UAP QC-Elliptical Chapter extends its congratulations to the interns and its gratitude to the mentors for their invaluable contributions.

UAP QC-Elliptical Chapter is proud to announce that three of our members, all empowered women, were recently inducted into the United Architects of the Philippines (UAP) Committee on Government Service. The induction ceremony took place on July 30, 2025, at the CW Home Depot Events Hall in Ortigas.

The Committee on Government Service operates under the umbrella of the UAP Commission on Professional Practice. It is spearheaded by Ar. Lucille Chua, who serves as the Committee Head. Ar. Ma. Jeriel Michael holds the position of Secretary, while Ar. Beth Regala serves as the Committee's Adviser.

This marks a significant achievement for our chapter, highlighting the dedication and talent of our members who will now contribute their expertise at a national level.

UAP QC-Elliptical Leaders Appointed to National Committee

Three past Chapter Presidents of UAP QC-Elliptical have been appointed to key positions in the UAP Committee on Government Service for Fiscal Year 2025-2026. Ar. Lucille Chua will serve as Chairperson, Ar. Ma. Jeriel Michael as Secretary, and Ar. Ma. Benita Regala as Adviser. These empowered women, recognized for their significant contributions in government service, will now extend their impact to a broader community. The Chapter expresses immense pride in their national appointments.
