Good news sa mga taga-Negros!

Opisyal nang binuksan ang DSWD Field Office Negros Island Region (NIR) at ang SWAD Negros Oriental Office!

Matatagpuan ang SWAD Negros Oriental sa Jose Romero Road, Brgy. Talay, Dumaguete City (katabi ng Mang Atchan Talay, malapit sa City Limit).

Ang mga bagong tanggapan ay magbibigay-daan para mas mailapit ang mga programa at serbisyo ng DSWD sa mga kababayan natin sa Negros.

Sa pagbubukas ng bagong opisina, binibigyang buhay natin ang hangarin na maabot ang bawat Pilipino saan mang bahagi ng bansa at tiyaking walang maiiwan sa Bagong Pilipinas.

My heart felt gratitude to Junob National High School for the opportunity to deliver an inspirational message during their Nutrition Month Culmination Program. It was also a pleasure to witness the incredible talents of students across all grade levels.

Truly, Dumaguete continues to be home to talented and passionate youth and we are fortunate to have dedicated educators who nurture their potential and provide them with platforms to shine.

Yesterday was another good day as I had the opportunity to support the feeding program of Junob National High School, led by School Principal Mr. Luisito B. Mapue and their dedicated teachers. I’m glad to have contributed, even in a small way, to the well-being of the students.

Did you know?

The Regular Session of the Dumaguete City Council is held every Tuesday.

For today’s session, the City Council had the opportunity to present a resolution of recognition and appreciation to Nikita Alynna L. Cordova for her achievements at the 2025 International Criminal Court (ICC) Moot Court Competition. We also discussed other equally important items on the agenda.

Rest assured that we remain committed to both celebrating excellence and addressing matters that help shape a better Dumaguete for all.

Staying active and healthy amidst a busy schedule!

I’m glad to witness Dumagueteños continue to embrace an active lifestyle through sports and recreation. It’s inspiring to see runners along the roads and at marathons, young athletes being recruited by Manila schools, and people of all ages learning newly introduced sports in the city, like pickleball.

This only shows how strong and vibrant Dumaguete’s sports culture has become.
