This island is perfect for scuba diving and snorkling. There is actually few facts about the history of the Dumaran Island, but there is a lot on the history of the whole Palawan group of islands. First and foremost, in Palawan is where the 24,000 yrs.Old Tabon Man was discovered in 1962. The island was called "Palau-ye" by Chinese traders which means "land of beautiful, safe harbor". It is believed that in the first centuries Palawan engage in trades with the Malay and Chinese traders. In 1902, the Americans were able to "establish civil rule" and named it Paragua, but in 1903 it was renamed Palawan. Fast Facts
