Joey Lina, former senator and president of The Manila Hotel, discussed today at the Kapihan sa Manila Hotel forum the department’s key measures on medicine affordability, drug supply monitoring, healthcare access, and support for vulnerable sectors amid global uncertainty.

Secretary Herbosa said there is currently no supply problem affecting essential medicines, although the department is closely monitoring possible price increases due to higher shipping and logistics costs. He also highlighted DOH initiatives such as drug price monitoring, Zero Balance Billing, BUCAS centers, PhilHealth YAKAP benefits, and health support measures for vulnerable sectors to help ensure that essential medicines and healthcare services remain accessible to Filipinos.

DOLE: PhP 1.2 bilyon para sa jeepney drivers

KAPIHAN SA MANILA HOTEL: Sa ika-1 ng Abril, kasama ang Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), binigyang-diin ang kahandaan ng pamahalaan na umagapay sa mga manggagawang maaapektuhan ng krisis, kabilang ang planong PhP 1.2 bilyong standby fund para sa income augmentation ng mga tsuper ng jeepney at iba pang apektadong sektor. Ayon kay Usec. Bitonio Jr., "To keep the economy moving, you have to keep the people moving."

𝐊𝐀𝐏𝐈𝐇𝐀𝐍 𝐒𝐀 𝐌𝐀𝐍𝐈𝐋𝐀 𝐇𝐎𝐓𝐄𝐋: Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Undersecretary Hon. Benedicto Ernesto R. Bitonio Jr. discussed today at the Kapihan sa Manila Hotel forum the government’s current employment protection and labor assistance measures, focusing on jobs, livelihood support, and emergency assistance for vulnerable workers.

Usec. Bitonio Jr. said DOLE is coordinating with the Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) and the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) in assisting repatriated workers through job fairs, public employment services, counseling, training referrals, and entrepreneurship support. He also highlighted DOLE’s assistance for displaced and vulnerable workers through livelihood programs, TUPAD, and other interventions aimed at addressing possible labor and economic disruptions.
