Rice farmers, who feed the nation, are reduced to being beggars as far as farmer Danilo Bolos of Nueva Ecija is concerned. Bolos lamented the plight of farmers in front of congressmen in the House of Representatives on Monday.

“Sa sobrang mahal po ng mga input, ng mga pestisidyo, hindi po talaga masusulit. Nangungutang po kami. Ang tubo po kada buwan, 3% kada buwan," Bolos said.

"‘Yung... sinasabi nilang floor price [of palay]. Sana po matupad na po ito,” Bolos added.

The Illusion of "Okay"

"Ever feel like you're drowning in bills, not because you don't earn enough, but because you're chasing that 'perfect' image? We all do it—buying to impress, spending to get noticed, posting to prove we're 'okay' even when we're far from it.

But here's the truth: that online applause is temporary. The likes fade, the comments disappear, and what's left? The stress of unpaid bills and the tension at home.

Let's break free from the need to look rich. Happiness isn't in the newest gadget or fancy dinners just for the 'gram. It's in the simple things: peace at the dinner table, knowing the kids' education is covered, and sleeping soundly without debt weighing you down.

Choose real peace over fleeting likes. Your family's security is worth more than any online approval."

The Quiet Strength

"Striving too hard to prove you're the best can backfire, insulting both yourself and others. Constantly showcasing superiority implies that others aren't good enough, diminishing their efforts and talents. In seeking validation, you might unintentionally belittle the quiet strengths around you.

True greatness isn't about competition or chasing recognition; it's found in humility and letting actions speak for themselves. When you're too focused on proving your worth, you lose sight of the fact that real value is felt, not announced.

The need to prove yourself often reveals insecurity, breeding resentment instead of respect. The louder you try to prove your worth, the less convincing it becomes.

The greatest among us rarely try to prove themselves. They work with consistency, integrity, and quiet strength, earning recognition without demanding it. The best version of yourself doesn't compete; it simply is authentic."

Mayor Vico Sotto, a beacon of integrity in a landscape often shadowed by deceit, has never shied away from speaking truth to power. His words cut through the noise, challenging the very foundations of what society often misconstrues as success. In a defining moment, he declared:

"You call yourself successful, yet your family is a battlefield. You flaunt your wealth, but it's stained with the sweat and tears of the exploited. You wield power, but your ascent was paved with the dignity of those you crushed beneath you!"

He dismantled the illusion that titles, money, or influence equate to genuine success, especially when these are achieved at the cost of one's soul, the well-being of family, or the basic human rights of others.

Sotto exposed the charade of leaders who parade mansions and luxury cars, masking a reality of betrayal, corruption, and fractured families. "What is wealth," he demanded, "if it's built on a foundation of lies and stolen dreams? What is power, if it's maintained by the oppression of the very people you swore to serve?"

For Vico, leadership is synonymous with accountability—a sacred duty not just to the electorate but to the unwavering moral compass that guides every action. True success, he insists, is measured by acts of service, grounded in humility and integrity, not by the fleeting allure of status symbols.

His words resonated like a clarion call, particularly among the youth, who recognize in him a leader brave enough to redefine success in a nation shackled by corruption. Vico Sotto challenges us all to aspire to a higher standard, where ethical governance and selfless service are the true hallmarks of achievement, igniting a movement towards a more just and equitable society.
