Rockstar Games has officially confirmed that Grand Theft Auto VI will now launch on May 26, 2026, pushing the release back from its originally expected 2025 window. In a statement released today, the studio cited the need for additional time to meet the high expectations set by fans and to ensure the game reaches Rockstar’s usual standard of quality.

“We’re very sorry that this is later than you expected,” Rockstar wrote, adding that they appreciate the continued support and patience from the community.

Rockstar Games says more details will be shared soon.
