As someone who is medically diagnosed with depression and also tried to self-exit multiple times, my heart truly breaks for Emman.

You can have any thing you want handed to you, do anything you want to do, be authentic, and live life to the fullest — but still have depression.

You can have the perfect life, a supportive family, great friends or partner, but can still be depressed.

Because depression doesn’t always look like sadness. Sometimes it looks like laughter, success, or a busy life. Sometimes it hides behind smiles, achievements, and the words “I’m okay.”

It’s a silent battle that no one sees — one that takes strength just to wake up, to move, to exist.

To anyone fighting this invisible war, your pain is valid. You are not weak. You are not broken. You are not a burden.

And if today feels too heavy, please hold on. You’re still here, and that means something. You are still loved, still worthy, and still meant to see better days ahead.

To everyone reading this, please be kind. Compassion saves lives. Hopefully what happened to Emman will enlighten more people. Mental health is real, that depression is not a sign of weakness, and that even the ones who seem the strongest might be the ones struggling the most.
