Kuyog ta: walking together in faith (short reflection on my GKK Mass Candutay, GKK Lulukhan and GKK Luho)

In our journey of faith, we are never alone. The GKK reminds us that we are a community of believers walking together in faith, love, and service. This spirit of companionship lies at the heart of a Synodal Church; a Church that listens, walks together, and discerns the will of God as one people.

Companions in a journey are not only those who physically walk with us but also those who share our dreams, struggles, and mission. In our GKKs, we see this every day: neighbors who visit the sick, youth who serve at Mass, mothers who lead prayers, and leaders who bring God's Word into every home. They are signs of God's presence, reminding us that every journey becomes more meaningful when shared.

The Synodal process invites us to listen deeply to one another especially to those at the margins and to recognize the gifts each person brings. It reminds us that the Church is not just the hierarchy but all the people of God, walking together, discerning together, and building the Kingdom of God together.

As we reflect today, let us ask:
Who are the companions God has given us in our faith journey? Have we been a true companion to others; listening, supporting, encouraging? How can we be more synodal in our way of walking with others?🤔🙏❤️

Travel light. Live Full. A short-reflection for the 14th Sunday in ordinary time Year C.

Life is a journey filled with twists, turns, detours, and unexpected blessings. But many of us travel through it carrying far too much. We carry the weight of past mistakes, unmet expectations, comparisons, fears, grudges, and the pressure to always be “enough.” Slowly, these invisible bags begin to shape how we see the world and how we see ourselves. They wear us down, rob our joy, and make it harder to live fully in the present. But what if we chose to lighten our load or to travel light?

In this Sunday’s Gospel, Jesus sends out seventy-two disciples with a clear instruction: “Carry no purse, no bag, no sandals.” At first, this may seem odd. Why send them out empty-handed? Why would Jesus ask them to go out into the world with nothing? Because He knows that when we travel light, we make room for something far greater: trust in God.

Jesus wasn’t just giving packing tips. He was teaching a spiritual truth. We all carry “bags” not just physical belongings, but emotional and spiritual burdens: worry, control, expectations, fear, pride, resentment. These weigh us down and keep us from fully living out our mission. By sending the disciples out with nothing, Jesus shows us that the power of the Gospel doesn’t lie in our resources or abilities, but in our willingness to trust and follow Him. He sends us to bring peace, healing, and hope and not by relying on our own strength, but by walking in faith.

Traveling light doesn’t mean being careless, traveling light means being care-full: this means full of care for what truly matters. It means making room in our hearts for peace, love, purpose, and presence. It is about trusting that we are not alone. That life is not something to “win,” but something to walk through with grace. It’s realizing that we don’t need to pack for every “what if” because God is already in the “what is.” The lighter we travel, the freer we become. Free to love. Free to serve. Free to grow. Free to be ourselves. The journey ahead is long and beautiful. Let’s not weigh it down. Let’s travel light and live full.❤️😊🙏 Happy Sunday ❤️😊

A blessed moment of grace! The Vincentian Popular Mission is officially turned over to the Diocese of San Carlos.

With hearts full of gratitude and joy, we gather today to mark a significant moment in the life of our Diocese, the official turn-over of the Vincentian Popular Mission. This is not just a ceremonial event; it is a spiritual milestone, a fruit of grace and collaboration, and a fresh commissioning to live out the Gospel with renewed fervor.

First and foremost, we express our deepest thanks to the Vincentian missionaries who, with tireless dedication, zeal, and pastoral love, have journeyed with our parishes and communities. Through their presence, the Good News of Jesus Christ has been preached not only from the pulpit but also in homes, barangays, chapels, and hearts. You have reminded us of the Church’s missionary character and have rekindled in us the fire of evangelization.

The Vincentian Popular Mission has sown seeds of faith, reconciliation, and conversion. It has awakened in many the thirst for the Word of God, the value of community life, and the urgency of responding to God’s call to mission. Now, as this mission is turned over to the Diocese, we receive it not as a task completed, but as a responsibility entrusted and a call to sustain, nurture, and deepen the renewal that has begun.

Let this be a time of continued collaboration among clergy, religious, and laity. Let us take to heart the tools and formation shared with us. Let every Basic Ecclesial Community, every parish ministry, and every lay volunteer know that the mission continues through each of us. The Church does not rest, and neither must our hearts grow weary in doing good.

Let us also carry forward the spirit of St. Vincent de Paul, his love for the poor, his passion for the Gospel, and his commitment to forming communities of faith and service. Inspired by his example and strengthened by the Spirit, may we continue to proclaim Christ in word and witness.

On behalf of our Diocese, I thank everyone who made this mission possible: the Vincentian priests and brothers, the local coordinators, our parish teams, and all who opened their homes and hearts to this journey of renewal.

May the Lord bless this next chapter. May Mary, our Mother, St. Vincent de Paul and St. Charles Borromeo intercede for us. And may the Diocese of San Carlos become, ever more, a community of missionary disciples, faithful to Christ and alive in His mission.

Maraming salamat, mabuhay ang misyon, at pagpalain tayong lahat ng Diyos! Uban ta bai sa Misyon! I-kamada ta! 🙏😊❤️

Pastoral Integration

Today, we give thanks for the meaningful journey of our seminarians who have completed their summer apostolate. As they reflect on their pastoral experiences and continue their formation, may they carry the light of Christ wherever they go. Let us continue to pray for them as they grow into shepherds after God’s own heart.❤️😊🙏

The BEC Organizing Training has officially concluded. With hearts overflowing with gratitude and joy, we pause to thank the Lord for the grace and success of our Basic Ecclesial Communities (BEC) Organizing Training.

In this sacred journey of formation, we have truly felt the Spirit of Synodality - walking together as brothers and sisters, listening deeply, and discerning the call of the Holy Spirit for our communities.

To our beloved Bishop, Most. Rev. Gerardo A. Alminaza, D.D. thank you for shepherding us with compassion. Your presence reminds us that we are part of one pilgrim Church, journeying together under the guidance of the Spirit. Your presence among us is a testament to your commitment to nurturing our faith and community.

To our facilitators, the Bukal ng Tipan represented by Bro. Noel and Ading, thank you for being instruments of God’s wisdom. Your patience, clarity, and passion for the Church's mission have opened our hearts to new possibilities and rekindled our desire to serve.

To the Clergy of the Diocese of San Carlos, thank you for your constant support and witness to synodal leadership— leadership that listens, accompanies, and empowers. Your support gave strength to our journey.

To our participants, your courage to step forward, your openness to formation, and your deep love for the Church are signs of great hope. Together, we are becoming true missionary disciples, rooted in Christ and ready to build communities that are inclusive, prayerful, and life-giving.

To the Diocesan Pastoral Team, your hard work behind the scenes ensured everything ran smoothly. From logistics to communication, your service did not go unnoticed. Your selfless service mirrored the humble love of Christ. Every detail you managed contributed to the grace we experienced.

And above all, to our Loving God, we lift our deepest thanks. You have gathered us, spoken to us, and moved among us. May our BECs become living spaces of communion, participation, and mission—true signs of Your presence in our neighborhoods and parishes.

Let this be not the end, but a beginning. The road ahead is filled with hope and promise. Let us walk together, listening, serving, and building a Church that truly reflects Your love. ❤️🙏😊

Uban ta bai sa Misyon!

“Grateful Hearts, Green Beginnings” A reflection on the recently concluded Parish Lunhaw Camp 2025

The recently concluded Parish Lunhaw Camp was not just an event—it was a powerful experience of communion, participation, and mission. As a synodal Church, we walked together, listened to one another, and allowed the Holy Spirit to stir our hearts with renewed zeal for creation and community.

The success of the camp was not measured merely by the number of activities or participants, but by the deep sense of unity, joy, and purpose that blossomed among us. We witnessed young and old sharing stories, planting hope, and celebrating the gift of "Lunhaw"—a fresh greening of our faith and our shared home, the Earth.

Truly, this camp was a reminder that the Church is most alive when it listens, when it walks together, and when it takes action rooted in love. Inspired and renewed, we return to our communities ready to continue this synodal journey with open hearts, attentive ears, and willing hands.

Heartfelt thanks to everyone who made our Parish Lunhaw Camp a meaningful and memorable success!
