The 𝗧𝗵𝗶𝗿𝗱 𝗬𝗲𝗮𝗿 𝗕𝗦𝗔 𝗠𝗮𝗷𝗼𝗿 𝗶𝗻 𝗔𝗻𝗶𝗺𝗮𝗹 𝗦𝗰𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 students of 𝗕𝗶𝗰𝗼𝗹 𝗨𝗻𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗚𝘂𝗶𝗻𝗼𝗯𝗮𝘁𝗮𝗻 successfully bridged classroom lessons and practical knowledge—turning theory into meaningful learning experience. 🐐📚

They recently conducted the 𝗼𝗻𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝘀𝗲𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗿 entitled “𝙂𝙤𝙖𝙩 𝙈𝙖𝙣𝙖𝙜𝙚𝙢𝙚𝙣𝙩 𝙋𝙧𝙖𝙘𝙩𝙞𝙘𝙚𝙨”, an activity dedicated to guiding and sharing essential knowledge with the 𝗙𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁 𝗬𝗲𝗮𝗿 𝗕𝗦𝗔 — 𝗕𝗹𝗼𝗰𝗸 𝟭 students. The session aimed to equip learners with foundational skills and insights on proper care, breeding, feeding, health management, and sustainable raising of Capra hircus or domestic goats.

With the expertise and guidance of resource speaker, 𝗠𝗿. 𝗝𝗲𝗵𝘂 𝗣. 𝗢𝘅𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗻𝗼, participants explored the basics of goat production—from biological characteristics, housing requirements, feeding management, disease prevention, to proper record keeping. The program was made even more meaningful with actual demonstrations on proper goat handling, health checks, and hands-on management techniques, bringing lessons straight from theory to practice.

This activity showcased the spirit of peer learning and academic growth, proving how future animal scientists share expertise, build competence, and strengthen the foundation of agriculture education within the university.

The organizers expressed their gratitude for the active participation and enthusiasm of everyone involved. Special thanks and appreciation were extended to Mr. Jehu P. Oxciano for generously sharing his time, knowledge, and valuable expertise with all the learners. 🌾🤝

IT’S A WRAP! 🌱✨

The Third Year Agricultural Extension major students of Bicol University Guinobatan stepped beyond the classroom and turned knowledge into meaningful community action.
They successfully conducted a one-day seminar-training titled “From Farm to Market: Training on Trimmed Fresh Young Coconut Production.” The program opened with a prayer and the singing of the national anthem, followed by opening remarks from Mr. Jayson N. Olayta, subject professor of the Agricultural Extension students. This was complemented by an insightful lecture from Mr. Evan Titus Paul L. Labrador, Senior Science Research Specialist of the Philippine Coconut Authority – Albay Research Center.

A hands-on demonstration was then facilitated by Ms. Pamela B. Hernan, Science Research Specialist, together with Mr. Ritchie M. Paste, Laboratory Aide II. Participants actively engaged during the open forum, showing enthusiasm and curiosity throughout the session. Certificates and tokens were awarded as a gesture of appreciation, while a lively Zumba session led by the AEX majors energized the crowd.

In the afternoon, participants joined the workshop proper, divided into five teams. The winning group received a starter pack from the Philippine Coconut Authority, along with training modules prepared by the students. The event concluded with the awarding of certificates, final announcements, and a photo opportunity to celebrate the success of the activity.

The Third Year Agricultural Extension students extend their heartfelt gratitude to the Philippine Coconut Authority for their support, to the Sitio Ragacay community, and to Barangay Mapaco together with the Sangguniang Kabataan of Mapaco for their cooperation. They also express sincere appreciation to their mentors, Mrs. Angel Ann P. Padilla and Mr. Jayson N. Olayta—your guidance and dedication made this initiative possible. 🌱🌴💚

From learning to application, this initiative truly embodied extension in action—empowering communities one step at a time. 🌴🥥

They will conduct a 𝗼𝗻𝗲-𝗱𝗮𝘆 𝘀𝗲𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗿-𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 entitled “𝙁𝙧𝙤𝙢 𝙁𝙖𝙧𝙢 𝙩𝙤 𝙈𝙖𝙧𝙠𝙚𝙩: 𝙏𝙧𝙖𝙞𝙣𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙤𝙣 𝙏𝙧𝙞𝙢𝙢𝙚𝙙 𝙁𝙧𝙚𝙨𝙝 𝙔𝙤𝙪𝙣𝙜 𝘾𝙤𝙘𝙤𝙣𝙪𝙩 𝙋𝙧𝙤𝙙𝙪𝙘𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣.” This initiative is dedicated to 𝗲𝗺𝗽𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗶𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗴𝗲𝗻𝗼𝘂𝘀 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗦𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼 𝗥𝗮𝗴𝗮𝗰𝗮𝘆, 𝗠𝗮𝗽𝗮𝗰𝗼, 𝗚𝘂𝗶𝗻𝗼𝗯𝗮𝘁𝗮𝗻, 𝗔𝗹𝗯𝗮𝘆 by sharing practical knowledge and skills that can support sustainable livelihood opportunities.
