Hundreds of residents marched through floodwaters on Saturday, September 20, to join the โTindig, Hagonoyโ rally, pressing the government for action on the townโs worsening flood problem.
The program began with a dawn Mass, followed by a symbolic walk through submerged streets. Protesters passed the public market, Sta. Monica bridge, and Del Pilar Street before gathering at Hagonoy Park. The event later continued with a motorcade around the town.
Wearing black shirts as a sign of unity, participants raised concerns over alleged irregularities in flood control projects. They urged officials to provide long-term and transparent solutions.
Organizers said the rally was not only a protest but also a call for accountability and dignity for the people of Hagonoy.
