Work with grit, never quit
With unwavering perseverance, 63-year-old Nanay Teresita begins her day earlier than most vendors, traveling from Barangay Asia to the streets of Nauhang, Bacuyangan to sell bananas—a fruit rich in antioxidants that strengthen the immune system and fight harmful bacteria. Despite the long distance and the heavy loads, she carries, she faces each day with quiet strength and purpose. Guided by determination, she carefully arranges the bananas she patiently nurtured with her calloused hands, shaped by years of hard work. Though the earnings are modest and competition is tough, she never utters a complaint. For Nanay Teresita, selling bananas is more than a livelihood—it’s her way of putting food on the table and caring for her family. Her story is a powerful reflection of resilience, maternal devotion, and the dignity of honest labor. She is living proof that true strength lies in persistence and selfless love.
