Batac NHS BSP Joins Opening Program of RSPC

BATAC CITY, Ilocos Norte — The Boy Scouts of the Philippines (BSP) of Batac National High School joined the opening program of the Regional Schools Press Conference (RSPC) on March 10, 2026 held at the Ilocandia Cultural Center (ICC) in the City of Batac.

Young Voices in Order: Two Batac NHS Scouts Excel in Council Youth Forum

Demonstrating leadership, discipline, and mastery of parliamentary practice, Scouter Assen Lew Q. Lagmay and Scouter Marc Kerry Amudo proudly represented their school during the Council Scout Youth Forum of Ilocos Norte–Laoag City Council held on March 6–8, 2026, at Catalino Acosta Memorial Elementary School (CAMES).

The three-day gathering brought together young scouts from different schools across the council to strengthen their leadership skills and deepen their understanding of Parliamentary Procedure, an essential component in conducting organized and democratic meetings within the scouting movement.

Lagmay and Amudo actively participated in discussions and simulations that emphasized proper motions, order of debate, and decision-making processes. Their engagement reflected the values of discipline, respect, and cooperation that scouting aims to instill among the youth.

The participation of the two young scouts was made possible through the guidance and support of their BSP Coordinator, Scouter Peter Gabay Manglal-lan whose dedication to mentoring student leaders continues to inspire members of the scouting community.

Equally instrumental in their journey was the unwavering encouragement of School Principal II Scouter Connie Marie Balignasay whose commitment to holistic student development strengthens the school’s scouting program.

Financial assistance from the School Parents-Teachers Association (SPTA), under the leadership of President Ledro Tilu , also played a vital role in enabling the scouts to attend the event. The school community likewise expressed gratitude to the supportive parents of the two participants for their trust and encouragement.

With pride and admiration, Outfit 06 celebrates the achievement and participation of Scouters Lagmay and Amudo. Their dedication and enthusiasm embody the true spirit of scouting, inspiring fellow scouts to lead with confidence and integrity.

Kudos to both of you for representing Outfit 06 with honor and pride!

BSP/GSP- Batac NHS Honor the Legacy of Gen. Artemio “Vibora” Ricarte on His 159th Birth Anniversary

In remembrance of the 159th birth anniversary of General Artemio “Vibora” Ricarte, the Boy Scouts of the Philippines (BSP) and Girl Scouts of the Philippines (GSP) of Batac National High School joined the city’s commemorative activities to honor one of the nation’s great patriots.

Guided by their outfit advisors Mr. Peter G. Manglal-lan, The Tita's Ms. Fricila Joy L. Batangan, and Ms. Kristhel Bacud, the Scouts actively participated in the tribute that celebrated Gen. Ricarte’s courage, patriotism, and unwavering love for the country.

The life of Gen. Ricarte, known as “Vibora” or “The Viper,” mirrors the true essence of the Scout Oath and Law to love God and country, to help other people at all times, and to remain trustworthy, loyal, and brave. His dedication to the freedom of the Philippines inspires Scouts to live with discipline, serve with sincerity, and uphold the values of honor and service.

As the Scouts stood in solemn respect, they were reminded that service to the nation begins with small acts of goodness, honesty, and responsibility values deeply rooted in the principles of Scouting.

Indeed, the commemoration of Gen. Ricarte’s life was not only a tribute to a national hero but also a reflection of the Scouts’ continuing mission: to be prepared in heart, mind, and action in serving others and the nation.

The Boy Scouts of the Philippines–Batac National High School held a short meeting to welcome and meet its new members today, October 15, 2025, from 5:00 to 5:30 PM. The gathering aimed to orient the new scouts about the organization’s mission and upcoming activities, fostering unity and enthusiasm among all members.

BSP-Batac National High School Highlights the Spirit of Scouting During Flag Raising Ceremony

In celebration of Scouting Month, the Boy Scouts of the Philippines (BSP)–Batac National High School (BNHS) proudly led the flag raising ceremony on October 13, 2025. The event aimed to rekindle the values of discipline, service, and leadership among the youth.

With the guidance of Unit Leaders Mrs. Connie Marie Angelie Mae P. Balignasay and Mr. Peter G. Manglal-lan, the scouts took center stage as they showcased the essence of scouting through their participation in the national symbols and program segments.

The ceremony served not only as a tribute to the scouting movement but also as an opportunity to inspire students to embody the Scout Oath and Law in their daily lives.

During the program, speakers emphasized the importance of camaraderie, volunteerism, and preparedness—core principles that define every scout.

The audience was reminded that scouting continues to play a vital role in shaping responsible citizens who contribute positively to their school and community.

As the month-long celebration continues, Batac National High School remains steadfast in promoting the spirit of scouting—encouraging learners to live by its timeless motto: “Be Prepared.”
