🎬Hello TS Pips,
Let us play a bit of trick of emotions.
This is a fun video actually at least for these two beautiful boys.
But this should be more of a tribute to the man who adores them, and whom they adore too, so much.
Here is my Son, Tedi, with his Uncle JM. They are good friends and stuck at each other like brothers.
I brought them to play billiards on a Saturday.
The place is called Salvacion.
This is a fun place for them. Papa Michael (Tedi's Papu, and JM's Papa) used to bring them here for treats and good times. A beautiful place by the coast where Tedi could have his favorite tempura, and JM to have his french fries, while both enjoying delightful beverages.
The people around here are kind and friendly. They seemed to be entertained hearing these two converse in English. "Ari naman ang mga inglesero" (Here comes the english-speaking boys), they often say upon seeing the kids.
I enjoy this place so much as well. It reminds me how vastly wide this world is, and how too many people this world hosts to live, each living life at their respective terms and paces, battling and striving to not just survive, but live life the best way they could.
Sometimes, that's all the reminder i need to appreciate the many things I could easily ignore, but so much a privilege that I have. My life is not easy, never near perfect, and not at all without troubles. But without a sound perspective, it could be overwhelming and tempting to focus on the negative, and forget the many things I should be thankful about.
Places like this urges my spirit to count the blessings, and celebrate and cherish simple but meaningful things. Things, stuff, and especially people, which and who, really matters.
At the very instance as the boys play, enjoying and having fun, Papa Michael was at the ICU, battling for every ounce of chance to survive, so he could go back home to be with his adored boys.
Tedi was hopeful that his Papu would get well soon. JM was sure his Papa's broken bones would heal just soon. They were just made not to have any hint of hopelessness. And their childish optimism is inspiring.
But the reality has to strike them sooner or later. They must find out the truth. Bitter but liberating truth. That Papa Michael has to go, surely into a better place, but never to return.
These two boys will miss him, and will always love him.
In loving memory of Papa Michael.
Rest well, Pa. And with the blessed hope in Christ, we shall see you again one day.
PS: Should you meet my Tatay, please hug him for me. I miss him so much. And now I will miss you both.
