A powerful magnitude 8.7–8.8 earthquake off Russia's Kamchatka Peninsula on July 30, 2025, triggered widespread tsunami warnings and advisories across the Pacific.
A Tsunami Warning is issued when a major tsunami is expected to cause significant danger to life and property, requiring immediate evacuation, while a Tsunami Advisory is issued for smaller waves that may pose moderate risk, advising people to take precautions but without the same urgency.
