Valderrama, Antique โ Lt. Col. Arturo Balgos Jr., the Commanding Officer of the 61st Infantry (Hunter) Battalion of the 3rd Infantry (SPEARHEAD) Division, Philippine Army awarded a Letter of Commendation to Private Rey Justin Dagsan, for his heroic act of saving a young boy from being electrocuted at Barangay Lublub, Valderrama, Antique. The commendation was presented during a simple ceremony on July 2, 2025 at the Tacas Patrol Base, Barangay Tacas, Valderrama, Antique.
The commendation was handed over by 1LT Keynes Gil Roy C. Grande (INF) PA, the Commanding Officer of Charlie Company of 61IB together with MSg Arniel F. Llanera (ART) PA, the Sergeant Major of 61IB and SSg Virgilio S. Deriada (AGS) PA, the Personnel NCO of 61IB.
Pvt Dagsanโs swift and selfless response in rescuing the child exemplifies the courage, discipline, and dedication expected of every Filipino soldier. His actions not only saved a life but also brought pride and honor to his unit and the Philippine Army.

His courage in the face of danger is commendable and serves as an inspiration to all members of the 61st Infantry "Hunter" Battalion.
