𝐍𝐄𝐖𝐒 𝐔𝐏𝐃𝐀𝐓𝐄 | 𝐂𝐕𝐁𝐀𝐏𝐒 𝐇𝐨𝐥𝐝𝐬 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟓 𝐄𝐥𝐢𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐏𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐟𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐚𝐭 𝐒𝐀𝐈𝐓

The Council of Valencia Bukidnon Association of Private Schools (CVBAPS) hosted the 2025 Elimination Press Conference, bringing together 12 private schools on Friday, September 12, at San Agustine Institute of Technology, Inc. (SAIT). The event served as the official elimination round in preparation for the upcoming Division Schools Press Conference (DSPC).

The press conference ran from 9:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m., featured student journalists from the following schools including San Agustine Institute of Technology, Inc. (SAIT), St. Joseph High School of Laligan, Inc. (SJHSLI), San Jose High School of Sinayawan, Inc. (SJHSSI), Central Bukidnon Institute (CBI), Valencia Baptist Christian Academy (VBCA), Paramount School of Arts, Languages, Management and Sciences, Inc. (PSALMS), Valencia School of the Morning Star (VSMS), First Fruit Christian Academy (FFCA), Infant Jesus School of Bukidnon, Inc. (IJSB), Bukidnon Faith Christian School, Inc.(BFSCI), Mountain View College (MVC), and Valencia City High School (VCHS).

With the theme “𝘛𝘢𝘭𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘰 𝘢𝘵 𝘏𝘶𝘴𝘢𝘺 𝘯𝘨 𝘉𝘢𝘨𝘰𝘯𝘨 𝘏𝘦𝘯𝘦𝘳𝘢𝘴𝘺𝘰𝘯 𝘗𝘢𝘳𝘢 𝘴𝘢 𝘗𝘳𝘰𝘨𝘳𝘦𝘴𝘪𝘣𝘰𝘯𝘨 𝘙𝘦𝘩𝘪𝘺𝘰𝘯,” the conference highlighted the skills and potential of young campus journalists as they competed in various categories. The elimination aimed to select the best representatives who will advance to the DSPC, reflecting the importance of nurturing youth talent for regional development.

Organized by CVBAPS, the event also underscored collaboration among private schools in honing the journalistic abilities of their students. Teachers, coaches, and school administrators were present to support and guide the participants throughout the one-day conference.

The successful conduct of the elimination rounds marked another milestone in campus journalism in Valencia City, ensuring that the best talents from private schools are ready to represent the city in the next level of competition.

SAIT GYMNASIUM — Monday, September 8, 2025, the San Agustin Institute of Technology (SAIT) commemorated the Feast of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary with a series of religious activities highlighted by a solemn Mass and a Marian procession.

The celebration opened with the praying of the Holy Rosary and the recitation of the Apostles’ Creed, followed by the traditional offering of flowers in honor of the Virgin Mary. During this part of the devotion, the Third Mystery of the Rosary was cited while flowers were laid at the center of the stage.

The highlight of the program was the Holy Mass presided over by Rev. Fr. Leonelex S. Miano, who underscored Mary’s role in salvation history. In his homily, he described God as “𝘳𝘰𝘢𝘳𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘮𝘺𝘴𝘵𝘦𝘳𝘪𝘰𝘶𝘴” and emphasized Mary as a model of faith and humility. “𝘔𝘢𝘳𝘺 𝘪𝘴 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘮𝘰𝘥𝘦𝘭 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘶𝘴,” Fr. Miano said, reminding the faithful that “𝘸𝘦 𝘴𝘩𝘰𝘶𝘭𝘥 𝘴𝘦𝘳𝘷𝘦 𝘸𝘪𝘵𝘩𝘰𝘶𝘵 𝘴𝘦𝘦𝘬𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘨𝘭𝘰𝘳𝘺. 𝘓𝘦𝘵 𝘶𝘴 𝘢𝘴𝘬 𝘰𝘶𝘳𝘴𝘦𝘭𝘷𝘦𝘴: 𝘢𝘳𝘦 𝘸𝘦 𝘸𝘪𝘭𝘭𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘵𝘰 𝘰𝘧𝘧𝘦𝘳 𝘰𝘶𝘳𝘴𝘦𝘭𝘷𝘦𝘴, 𝘫𝘶𝘴𝘵 𝘭𝘪𝘬𝘦 𝘔𝘢𝘳𝘺?”

As part of the public commemoration, a Marian parade was also held, beginning at the Valencia City Hall, passing through SAIT, and lead at the San Agustin Parish Church. School President, Sr. Teresita S. Sajelan, MCM, students and faculty showed their reverence by scattering flower petals on the Virgin Mary’s statue, a gesture symbolizing purity and devotion.

The celebration not only honored Mary’s birth but also reinforced the community’s Marian devotion, particularly among the youth. The faithful were reminded of Mary’s example of obedience and service, which, according to Fr. Miano, should guide Christians in their daily lives.

The events concluded in an atmosphere of solemnity and faith, reflecting SAIT’s students enduring devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary.

Isang matagumpay na kulminasyon ng Buwan ng Wika sa San Agustin Institute of Technology

Isang makulay at makasaysayang araw ang naganap ngayong araw sa bulwagan ng San Agustin Institute of Technology nang idaos ang kulminasyon ng Buwan ng Wika. Sa temang “Paglinang sa Filipino at Katutubong Wika: Makasaysayan sa Pagkakaisa ng Bansa.” na nagtataguyod ng pagmamahal sa sariling wika at kultura, muling ipinamalas ng buong institusyon ang kanilang pagkakaisa at kasiglahan sa pamamagitan ng iba’t ibang paligsahan at pagtatanghal.

Lumahok sa pagdiriwang ang apat na departamento: Business, Social Work, Education, Midwifery, na nagsama-sama upang ipamalas ang galing, talento, at pagmamahal sa kulturang Pilipino.

Sa umaga, naging tampok ang masigla at makukulay na laro ng lahi, kung saan nagpakita ng kasipagan, palaro, at samahan ang bawat kalahok. Kasunod nito ay ang mala-pistang handog ng bawat departamento sa pamamagitan ng Pista sa Nayon, kung saan ipinakita ang samu’t saring putaheng Pilipino na kumakatawan sa iba’t ibang lugar sa bansa, isang patunay ng yaman ng ating tradisyon at lutuing bayan.

Pagsapit ng hapon, lalo pang nagningning ang pagdiriwang sa serye ng mga pagtatanghal tulad ng choral choir at mga katutubong sayaw na nagbigay-buhay sa kasaysayan at sining ng ating lahi. Ngunit higit na naging sentro ng kulminasyon ang paligsahang Ginoong Wika, kung saan ipinamalas ng apat na kandidato mula sa iba’t ibang departamento ang kanilang kagwapuhan, talento, at talino. Sa huli, itinanghal na Ginoong Wika 2025 si Sherwin Pumatong mula sa Department of Business, na umani ng masigabong palakpakan mula sa buong komunidad.

Ang buong kulminasyon ay nagsilbing paalala na ang wika at kultura ay hindi lamang alaala ng nakaraan, kundi patuloy na gabay sa pagkakaisa at pagkakakilanlan ng sambayanang Pilipino. Sa pagtatapos ng makulay na araw na ito, dala ng bawat isa ang aral na ang pag-ibig sa sariling wika ay tanda ng tunay na pagmamahal sa bayan.

VALENCIA CITY, BUKIDNON — The City of Valencia marked a momentous occasion as it celebrated its 74th Patronal Fiesta on August 27–28, 2025, with the theme, “𝘓𝘪𝘷𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘪𝘯 𝘚𝘺𝘯𝘰𝘥𝘢𝘭𝘪𝘵𝘺 𝘛𝘩𝘳𝘰𝘶𝘨𝘩 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘐𝘯𝘵𝘦𝘳𝘤𝘦𝘴𝘴𝘪𝘰𝘯 𝘰𝘧 𝘚𝘢𝘪𝘯𝘵 𝘈𝘶𝘨𝘶𝘴𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘦.” This year’s festivities once again underscored the city’s devotion to its patron saint while showcasing the vibrancy of its culture and community spirit.

The two-day celebration opened with the Religious Civic Parade, a colorful tradition that drew together schools, civic organizations, and government offices in a display of faith, unity, and local pride.

Leading the academic contingents was the San Agustin Institute of Technology (SAIT), spearheaded by its School President, Sr. Teresita S. Sajelan, MCM, along with the faculty and staff. Their participation highlighted the institution’s continued commitment to actively supporting the cultural and religious heritage of Valencia City.

Adding rhythm and energy to the event were the band and lyre corps from various schools, including Valencia City Central School, Valencia National High School, SAIT, Lumbo Integrated School, Guinoyuran National High School, Tongantongan National High School, and Saint Joseph High School of Laligan, Inc. Their performances brought excitement to the crowd, especially during the much-awaited “Pasabog Street Dancing Segment,” which earned enthusiastic praise from spectators.

Many attendees observed that this year’s parade surpassed expectations. “𝘉𝘦𝘵𝘵𝘦𝘳 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘯 𝘭𝘢𝘴𝘵 𝘺𝘦𝘢𝘳,” one resident commented, while another lauded the performers for their creativity and discipline, saying, “𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘱𝘢𝘳𝘵𝘪𝘤𝘪𝘱𝘢𝘯𝘵𝘴 𝘧𝘳𝘰𝘮 𝘥𝘪𝘧𝘧𝘦𝘳𝘦𝘯𝘵 𝘴𝘤𝘩𝘰𝘰𝘭𝘴 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘪𝘳 𝘱𝘦𝘳𝘧𝘰𝘳𝘮𝘢𝘯𝘤𝘦 𝘢𝘳𝘦 𝘪𝘯𝘤𝘳𝘦𝘥𝘪𝘣𝘭𝘦.”

Beyond the schools, the civic sector also made its strong presence felt. The parade featured floats and contingents from the San Agustin Fiesta King and Queen Married Categories, alongside representatives from the City Government of Valencia, the Office of the City Registrar, the City Engineering Office, the City Social Welfare and Development Office, and the Philippine Wide Anti-Smoking Operation for Health (PWASOH), Inc.. Notably, the Valencia United G**s Allies Association also joined, symbolizing inclusivity and the diverse representation of the city’s people.

The Patronal Fiesta of Valencia City has long been regarded as a unifying event, where religious devotion, cultural creativity, and civic solidarity converge. This year’s celebration reaffirmed the city’s reputation as a community deeply rooted in faith yet forward-looking in its inclusiveness and civic participation.

As the city honored Saint Augustine, its patron, the 74th fiesta not only paid tribute to tradition but also served as a living testament to the resilience, cooperation, and pride of the Valencianos.

Sila'y naglingkod hindi lamang para sa kalayaan ng Inang Bayan, kundi para sa kapwa Pilipinong inalipin ng dalamhati, kawalan ng pag-asa, at pang-aapi.

Kaya’t hindi kailanman malilimutan ang kanilang mga pangalan.
Hindi kailanman maililibing sa limot ang kanilang mga gawa.
At hindi kailanman mabubura sa kasaysayan ang kanilang kabayanihan, sapagkat sila ang tunay na sumulat ng ating kasaysayan.

Valencia City, Bukidnon, August 20, 2025 – The Bukidnon Association of Catholic Schools (BUACS) Valencia Cluster gathered at the San Agustin Institute of Technology (SAIT) Gymnasium for its annual seminar on “𝘙𝘦𝘭𝘪𝘨𝘪𝘰𝘯 𝘢𝘴 𝘊𝘰𝘳𝘦 𝘰𝘧 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘊𝘶𝘳𝘳𝘪𝘤𝘶𝘭𝘶𝘮” with the theme: Facing the Effects of Media in the Mission of Evangelization.

Around 155 faculty and staff from six Catholic schools actively participated in the event. The schools present were San Agustin Institute of Technology, Inc. (SAIT), San Jose High School, Inc. of Sinayawan, Sacred Heart Academy, Inc. of Valencia City, St. Joseph High School, Inc. of Laligan, Immaculate High School, Inc. of Guinoyoran, and Good Council High School, Inc.

The program opened with a prayer and the singing of the National Anthem. Faculty members from San Jose High School gave an intermission performance before the main discussion. Rev. Fr. Virgilio H. Delfin, CPA, DBM, served as the facilitator and spoke on “𝘙𝘦𝘭𝘪𝘨𝘪𝘰𝘯 𝘢𝘴 𝘊𝘰𝘳𝘦 𝘰𝘧 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘊𝘶𝘳𝘳𝘪𝘤𝘶𝘭𝘶𝘮,” focusing on the effects of media in the mission of evangelization.

In his talk, Fr. Delfin stressed that “𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘪𝘮𝘱𝘰𝘳𝘵𝘢𝘯𝘵 𝘨𝘳𝘢𝘤𝘦 𝘧𝘳𝘰𝘮 𝘏𝘪𝘮 𝘪𝘴 𝘎𝘰𝘥 𝘏𝘪𝘮𝘴𝘦𝘭𝘧 𝘨𝘪𝘷𝘦𝘯 𝘵𝘰 𝘦𝘢𝘤𝘩 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘺𝘰𝘯𝘦.” He reminded participants to nurture their relationship with God through prayer, to treat other religions with equal respect, and to live as “𝘮𝘪𝘴𝘴𝘪𝘰𝘯𝘢𝘳𝘺 𝘥𝘪𝘴𝘤𝘪𝘱𝘭𝘦𝘴 𝘰𝘧 𝘩𝘰𝘱𝘦 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘫𝘰𝘺.” He also warned of the harmful effects of excessive media use, linking it to anxiety, depression, poor sleep, and attention problems. “𝘔𝘦𝘥𝘪𝘢 𝘪𝘴 𝘢 𝘱𝘰𝘸𝘦𝘳𝘧𝘶𝘭 𝘵𝘦𝘢𝘤𝘩𝘦𝘳 – 𝘴𝘦𝘤𝘰𝘯𝘥 𝘰𝘯𝘭𝘺 𝘵𝘰 𝘺𝘰𝘶. 𝘐𝘧 𝘸𝘦 𝘥𝘰 𝘯𝘰𝘵 𝘵𝘦𝘢𝘤𝘩 𝘴𝘵𝘶𝘥𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘴 𝘩𝘰𝘸 𝘵𝘰 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘬 𝘢𝘣𝘰𝘶𝘵 𝘮𝘦𝘥𝘪𝘢, 𝘪𝘵 𝘸𝘪𝘭𝘭 𝘵𝘦𝘢𝘤𝘩 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘮 𝘸𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘵𝘰 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘬 𝘢𝘣𝘰𝘶𝘵 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘮𝘴𝘦𝘭𝘷𝘦𝘴,” he said.

The seminar also highlighted key messages such as: Christ is born from the heart of the Church, educating together in Catholic schools as a shared mission, the need for personal conversion, and the call for synodality in the Church.

Participants expressed their reflections on the activity. “𝘐 𝘫𝘶𝘴𝘵 𝘸𝘢𝘯𝘵 𝘵𝘰 𝘣𝘦 𝘳𝘦𝘮𝘪𝘯𝘥𝘦𝘥 𝘰𝘧 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘳𝘦𝘭𝘪𝘨𝘪𝘰𝘶𝘴 𝘳𝘦𝘴𝘱𝘰𝘯𝘴𝘪𝘣𝘪𝘭𝘪𝘵𝘺 𝘢𝘴 𝘢 𝘵𝘦𝘢𝘤𝘩𝘦𝘳 𝘪𝘯 𝘢 𝘊𝘢𝘵𝘩𝘰𝘭𝘪𝘤 𝘴𝘤𝘩𝘰𝘰𝘭. 𝘍𝘰𝘳 𝘮𝘦, 𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘺 𝘙𝘊𝘊 𝘴𝘦𝘳𝘷𝘦𝘴 𝘢𝘴 𝘢 𝘳𝘦𝘮𝘪𝘯𝘥𝘦𝘳,” shared Jocelyn C. Andamon, PhD. Meanwhile, Glenne A. Rivera, PhD, said, “𝘐𝘵 𝘪𝘴 𝘯𝘰𝘵 𝘯𝘦𝘸 𝘵𝘰 𝘮𝘦 𝘴𝘪𝘯𝘤𝘦 𝘐 𝘢𝘮 𝘢𝘭𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘥𝘺 𝘧𝘢𝘮𝘪𝘭𝘪𝘢𝘳 𝘸𝘪𝘵𝘩 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘵𝘰𝘱𝘪𝘤, 𝘣𝘶𝘵 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘴𝘦𝘳𝘷𝘦𝘴 𝘢𝘴 𝘢 𝘳𝘦𝘮𝘪𝘯𝘥𝘦𝘳 𝘰𝘧 𝘮𝘰𝘳𝘢𝘭𝘪𝘵𝘺 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘳𝘦𝘴𝘱𝘰𝘯𝘴𝘪𝘣𝘭𝘦 𝘶𝘴𝘦 𝘰𝘧 𝘮𝘦𝘥𝘪𝘢 𝘪𝘯 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘤𝘭𝘢𝘴𝘴𝘳𝘰𝘰𝘮 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘣𝘦𝘵𝘵𝘦𝘳𝘮𝘦𝘯𝘵 𝘰𝘧 𝘴𝘵𝘶𝘥𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘴.”

The annual seminar once again reinforced the commitment of BUACS Valencia Cluster to integrate faith and values into education, with the guiding vision of “One BUACS, One System, Transforming Lives.”
