CELLAR Shares Expertise on Mastering the Language: Editorial Training for Student Manuscripts and Field Reports
The Center for Language Learning and Research (CELLAR) shared its expertise in the event entitled βMastering the Language: Editorial Training for Student Manuscripts and Field Reportsβ organized by the Cavite State UniversityβCCAT Campus. The seminar-workshop was held on August 7, 2025, at the CCAT Hostel Function Hall.
The event aimed to equip attendees with the necessary skills and knowledge for effective manuscript preparation. Attended by professors, faculty members, and non-teaching personnel from various CvSU satellite campuses, the seminar served as a stepping stone toward scholarly engagement and academic contribution.
The resource speakers, headed by CELLAR Director Dr. Bernard S. Feranil, along with CELLAR EPC trainers from the Department of Humanities, delivered an insightful discussion on the CvSU Form and Style. With their expertise as accredited English critics, the speakers provided a comprehensive overview of the Universityβs editorial guidelines and academic writing standards, emphasizing the importance of consistency and clarity in manuscripts submitted to academic journals. They also offered practical tips on the English Critic accreditation process.
Throughout the session, the professors, faculty members, and non-teaching personnel actively participated in discussions. The seminar featured a forum designed to address the participantsβ scholarly inquiries. It also underscored the importance of adhering to the Universityβs form, style, and standards in academic writing, as well as the significance of originality and academic integrity in writing and publishing.
This active participation supports Cavite State Universityβs goal of fostering and promoting a culture of research and innovation among its students and personnel, preparing them for both academic writing endeavors and future professional careers.
