Aaannd......that's a wrap for our 2025 CEAP Provincial Games special coverage. We thank you to our audience and viewers for staying on the loop with us in this 3-day long sports gathering, this would not be possible without us—campus journalists, working day and night just to bring you the best of CEAP 2025 in your palm.

We thank you to our supportive moderators, Ma'am Flordeluna Esto, Ma'am Athena Cajes, and Ma'am Sofia Buhian for giving us the green light on our special coverage, including our Perspective President & Editor-In-Chief Jenhard Cristian P. MarianMoJo #4: Capturing the action – mobile journalism highlights the thrill of the Catholic Educational Association of the Philippines (CEAP) Provincial Games 2025 as five schools unite for a celebration of sportsmanship and school spirit here in Ipil, Zamboanga Sibugay.

The event opened with a vibrant parade, where each delegation proudly displayed their school colors and banners. This was followed by a solemn Mass that reminded everyone of the faith-centered mission of CEAP. The first day concluded with a lively Solidarity Night, where students shared talents, performances, and meaningful interactions, fostering a deeper sense of friendship and unity among the schools.

The second day was all about sports, as student-athletes competed with passion and integrity across various events. From courts to fields, the spirit of healthy competition was evident, and mobile journalists were on site capturing every thrilling moment — from game highlights to heartfelt interviews and behind-the-scenes stories. The event wrapped up on the third day with an awarding ceremony, celebrating not only victories but also the values of teamwork, discipline, and respect. CEAP 2025 was more than a sports event; it was a testament to the enduring spirit of youth and community.

Marcelo Spinola School, Loyola High School set to host 2026 CEAP Provincial Games

The Superintendent of the Diocese of Ipil Association of Catholic Schools, Fr. Carlito Gemina, officialy turned over the hosting rights for the 2026 CEAP Provincial Games to Marcelo Spinola School and Loyola High School during the CEAP Games closing ceremony on October 12, 2025 at Marian College, Inc.

Anong “kwentong CEAP” meron ka? – Catholic schools exec shares

Most Rev. Glenn M. Corsiga, D.D., Bishop of Diocese in Ipil, was unable to attend the opening mass and Homily Eucharistic celebration for the 3rd Catholic Education Association of the Philippines (CEAP) Sibugay Games due to an important meeting.

However, the Superintendent of the Diocese of Ipil Association of Catholic Schools, Fr. Carlito Gemina, steps up to convey the bishop message of love and support, emphasizing Catholic Identity to the delegates and encouraging them to reflect on ‘Anong kwentong CEAP meron ka?’ on Friday, October 10, 2025, at the St. Joseph the Worker Cathedral Parish in Ipil.

"Our very good bishop sent me a message saying ‘Sorry dili ko makaapil because of this meeting' but know that our bishop is praying with us and he would like to be with us but because of Bishop's meeting he has to attend," he said.

The following Catholic schools in Zamboanga Sibugay gathered here to celebrate the spirit of sportsmanship, teamwork and healthy competition, themed "Living Synodality as Pilgrims of Hope" including Xavier High School of Mabuhay, Inc., Loyola High School, Inc, Marcelo Spinola School, Inc., Saint Paul Scholl of Buug and Marian College, Inc.

Moreover, the Catholic schools exec delivers a inspiring message for the whole Catholic community

"Community without Unity, Cannot Thrive! So this is a beautiful reminder for all of us—to work together harmoniously, unanimously in the spirit of love and unity with faith.

He also shared five Pastoral key points for the athletes and coaches:
1- You are called to greatness
2- Sportsmanship is a virtue
3- Draw your encouragement from their prayers
4- Win or lose, you are always loved
5- Be a witness to your faith

The homily ended with Fr. Carlito expressing gratitude for the love and support of Bishop Glenn, athletes, coaches and school heads and promote hashtag for this CEAP games.

"Salamat sa inyung presensya, may you enjoy and later on I ask you during your selfie moments in your games and after this mass, may you have the hashtag " he said.

MCI's regional hopes fall as MSSI extends their 2-year drought

What could have been a comeback turned into a heartbreak as the Marian College, Inc. football team went home empty-handed as they absorbed their championship loss against Marcelo Spinola School after a devastating 0-4 rout in their rival's home turf in the 2025 CEAP Provincial Games on October 11, making it their two-year drought since 2024.

After winning their first game earlier in the morning, they opened with a sour start with struggling chemistry, leading Spinola to grab the gold and the ticket to Zamboanga City.

Facing the loss, the team now has to redeem themselves in the upcoming District Meet where they won in the last cluster match against Aim High Colleges, vowing to exert true improvements in the coming weeks.

Marian sweeps Spinola to clinch back-to-back CEAP victory in the volleyball girls category, qualifies for regional

Marian College moved on to regional of the CEAP games (Catholic Educational Association of the Philippines) with a come-from-behind (25-21, 25-11) two-set win at Lower Taway Covered Court on Saturday, October 11, 2025.

Marian College, struggling to score a point throughout the game, their errors stifled Marcelo Spinola scored opportunities, 14-19. However, despite their struggles, they manage to get the momentum. Karen Badon, the star player of the team, led the charge with outstanding performance and ended the first set, 25-21.

Grabbing the opportunity and completely crashing the Spinola in a starting point of 6-0. Marian defended the crown and ended the game with the score of 25-11, keeping their well-seasoned consistency as Palarong Pambansa competitors in Ilocos Norte.

3rd CEAP Sibugay Games kicks off with a colorful opening ceremony

The 3rd Catholic Education Association of the Philippines (CEAP) Sibugay Games officially commenced on Friday Oct 10 2025, held at Marian College Inc. (MCI), under the theme 'Living Synodality as Pilgrims of Hope,' it brought together delegates from various schools, showing their sportsmanship, teamwork and Catholic values.

The grand opening ceremony featured a parade of colors by the participating schools, including Loyola High School, Inc., Marcelo Spinola School, Inc., St. Paul School of Buug and Xavier High School of Mabuhay, Inc.

The Marian College Music Ensemble led the opening prayer while the national anthem was performed by the MCME Vocalists, followed by a performance of Marian College Dance Troop (MCDT).

In her welcoming remarks, Elizabeth C. Espiritu emphasized the "games is more than just a competition — it's the journey shared among brothers and sisters gathered as one community," sharing faith and hope with a Catholic identity and to reflect on the theme.

The oath of sportsmanship was led by Warren Keith Catiil while Teachie M. Guiret took oath for the officiating officials followed by lighting of the torch, with one representative per school.

Fr. Carlito Gemina, Superintendent of the Diocese of Ipil Association of Catholic Schools, led the declaration of the official opening for CEAP Provincial Games 2025.

"Good afternoon to all Catholic schools of Diocese in Ipil, I welcome you all to the support of CEAP Sibugay Games, and I officially declare these Sibugay Games Open! " He said.

Moreover, Hon. Ramses Troy Olegario, Municipal Mayor of Ipil, delivered an inspirational message for the young athletes coming from different Catholic schools.

"Sports teaches us valuable lessons: preserverance, teamwork,unity and delivering catholic values and faith—it reminds us learning values is important over winning medals or trophies" the mayor said.

The opening ceremony continued with a saludo presentation showcasing the unity and pride of the five schools: XHSMI, MSSI, SPSBI, LHS and MCI - proudly representing their institution.

Despite a tight schedule, Vice Governor Richard Olegario came to inspire student athletes and be with them in this gathering of Catholic schools and highlight the importance of opportunities than winning medals or trophies —but learning values.

The ceremony ended with community dance; CEAP Hymn led by SPSBI and after this program the games starts 6:00 onwards Oct 10, 2025 until Oct 13, 2025.

The 3rd CEAP Sibugay Games promises to be an exciting celebration of faith, spirit of sportsmanship, teamwork and healthy competitions, with student athletes commiting excellence in the various competition

MCI sweeps Xavier NHS in Boys’ Doubles Badminton Thriller

Marian College Inc. (MCI) secured a decisive victory, sweeping Xavier NHS of Mabuhay in a thrilling two-set battle to qualify for the regionals during the 2025 CEAP Provincial Games Men’s Doubles Badminton match on October 11 held at Budgetwise, Ipil.

Riding high on sizzling backhand smashes and tricky placing, the power duo of Terence Acapulco and Vincent Jhon Roullo triumphed over Xavier’s formidable pair, Clarence Carbaquel and Jotham Zarate, with a final score of 21-10, 21-11.

Acapulco and Roullo, known for their aggressive net play and powerful smashes, came out firing, quickly taking the lead in the first set.

Their coordination was seamless, with Roullo covering the backcourt with booming jump smashes while Acapulco controlled the frontcourt.

Carbaquel and Zarate struggled initially to find their rhythm.

However, they did not give up, attempting to counter MCI with decisive backhand smashes. However it was not enough leaving Xavier a score of 21-10.

Under the gloomy sky, the second set began with the MCI team immediately unleashed a series of deadly smashes.

With flawless ex*****on, Acapulco and Roullo closed out the set with a score of 21-11, securing the overall sweep and the title. CHAMPION

Marian sizzles early, defeats Spinola in the CEAP Badminton Girls Singles

In an intense and nail-biting showdown, Marian College, Inc. emerged victorious against Marcelo Spinola School with a score of 16-3, 31-7 during the 2025 CEAP Provincial Games Girls Singles Badminton Match held at Budgetwise, Ipil, today on October 11, 2025.

The momentum was set early by singles star, Rozelle Robante of MCI. Her tricky placing and powerful smashes overwhelmed Spinola’s player, clinching the first set with an impressive score of 16-3.

Princess Deguinian of Spinola tried to rally in the second set, showing spectacular placing and defensive shots, but it was not enough to defeat Robante.

She also delivered powerful attacks that made the crowd go wild as both of them initially forced long rallies and tight exchanges.

However, Robante’s strong determination and powerful backhand smashes couldn't be saved by Deguinian, finishing the second match with a score of 31-7.
