Cabatuan National High School (CNHS) formally launched the Academic Recovery and Accessible Learning (ARAL) Program on September 12 at the school gymnasium, in line with the nationwide simultaneous rollout spearheaded by the Department of Education (DepEd). The program aims to address learning gaps and strengthen student performance across grade levels.
Dr. Julian B. James Jr., Secondary School Principal IV, underscored the significance of the initiative in his message to the learners. โMga anak, kayo ang bida sa ARAL Program ng DepEd,โ he said, emphasizing that students are at the core of the programโs mission.
DepEd Undersecretary and Chief of Staff Fatima Panontongan explained that ARAL provides free tutorials for learners with academic difficulties, particularly focusing on improving reading proficiency among Grades 1 to 10 students.
School Reading Coordinator Maribel D. Longboy also highlighted that ARAL will assist learners not only in reading but also in English, Filipino, and other core subjects, ensuring that โno student is left behind.โ
Adding color to the event, CNHS students showcased their talents: Devine Paet delivered a spoken poetry piece, while Jandy Del Rosario presented a story that reflected the importance of reading in everyday life.
The launch culminated with the unveiling of the ARAL banner and logo, followed by a symbolic signing of the Commitment Board by teachers, learners, parents, and stakeholdersโa pledge to work hand in hand for academic recovery and holistic student development.
