John Ian Nahpadan Emerged Victorious in the Recently Concluded LD3 Area Meet

John Ian Nahpadan, a Grade 8 student of La Salette of Cabatuan, successfully brought home a gold medal in the Taekwondo competition during the Legislative District III Area Meet held last October 17–19, 2025 at Angadanan National High School. He represented the town of Cabatuan and showed great effort, strength, and determination all throughout the competition.

John Ian's first fight was against the player from Ramon where he successfully triumphed with skill and confidence. After that, he moved on to the finals, where he faced the representative from San Mateo. Once again, Ian gave his best and proudly won the gold medal. Because of his success, John Ian will be competing in the Isabela Provincial Athletic Association (isPAA).

His victory and success bring pride to the Salettinian community. His hard work and dedication truly show what it means to do your best and never give up. As stated by John Ian, "Don't put a limit on anything. The more you dream the further you get" He is indeed, a great inspiration to all Salettinians.

His remarkable victory is a testament not only to his athletic ability but also to his dedication and perseverance—qualities that reflect the true spirit of a La Salettian.

Basketball isn’t only about baskets made or games won—it’s about heart, unity, and the courage to face challenges head-on. Bola de Saletino (5x5 Basketball Team) proved exactly that in their recent tournament, where every game revealed their resilience and teamwork.

Their campaign began with a tough opener against Cabatuan National High School, where despite a strong effort, they fell short of victory. Instead of letting the loss discourage them, the team took it as fuel to improve. Their shining moment came in the match against La Paz National High School, where their determination translated into a well-earned win—a reward for their hard work and trust in one another.

In their final face-off with Luis Fe Gomez Diamantina National High School, the players once again gave everything they had, showing fortitude until the last buzzer. While the result wasn’t in their favor, their resilience and fighting spirit stood out more than the numbers on the scoreboard.

Though the journey ended earlier than hoped, the experience became a powerful reminder that true success lies in growth, not just trophies. With lessons learned and pride in their effort, the team also known as Bola de Saletino walks away not defeated, but prepared for even greater challenges ahead.

Bola de Saletino’s 3x3 team showed heart, teamwork, and resilience in their recent games, proving that victory is not only measured by the scoreboard but also by the spirit of the players.

In their opening match against Cabatuan National High School, the team fought hard but fell short, learning valuable lessons that fueled their determination.

They bounced back with stronger energy in their second game against Philippine Yuh Chiau, where their sharp passes, quick moves, and solid teamwork paid off—coming out on top as they secure their victory.

Though their rematch with Cabatuan National High School ended in another tough loss, the players’ perseverance and drive remained unshaken. Each game was a chance for growth, and the team left the court with heads held high, proud of the effort they gave.

More than the results, what stood out was their unity, sportsmanship, and never-give-up attitude. That single win
represents not just a point in the standings, but a symbol of what determination can achieve.

With this experience, the team is expected to return stronger, wiser, and hungrier for success in the games to come. Bola de Saletino players may have faced challenges, but they proved one thing—true victory lies in courage, teamwork, and the will to keep moving forward.

The Saletinnian Shuttlers proved their sportsmanship as they battled through intense rallies and tough opponents, bringing home medals that reflect both their skill and determination.

In the Boys Singles A, Prince Cedrick Mercado displayed agility and perseverance, securing a bronze medal after a series of close-fought matches. His performance marked him as one of the standout players of the day.

Over in the Boys Singles B, Lebron James Racoma soared high, earning a silver medal with his sharp smashes and swift returns. His consistency on the court brought pride to the team and showcased his growing potential.

The teamwork of Kurt Warlo C. Flores and Reimar Rein C. Jallorina (LSC) shone in the Boys Doubles, where their coordination and hustle led them to a silver medal finish, proving that unity in every rally makes all the difference.

In the Girls Singles A, Zechariah Renza C. David may not have placed this time, but her fighting spirit and determination highlighted her promise for future competitions.

For the Girls Doubles, the partnership of Rheanna Jade M. Corpuz and Jianne Markielle G. Napudo secured a bronze medal, showing resilience against seasoned opponents.

Adding to the team’s medal haul, the pair of Rheanna Jade M. Corpuz and Reimar Rein C. Jallorina brought home another bronze in the Mixed Doubles, demonstrating great synergy and adaptability on the court.

Though not all players reached the podium, each athlete’s effort painted a picture of perseverance, teamwork, and the will to keep improving. With these results, the secondary badminton team continues to inspire—showing that every serve and every rally is a step closer to greater victories ahead.

The spirit of discipline, strength, and determination shone brightly as the Secondary Taekwondo team delivered an outstanding performance in their recent competition, proudly bringing home three gold medals and two silvers.

Leading the charge were the gold medalists who showcased both skill and heart in every match. John Ian Nahpadan displayed exceptional technique and confidence, earning him the top spot in his division. Jaymaica Nicole Rambon proved her agility and fighting spirit, dominating her opponents to secure another gold. Adding to the golden sweep was Jemielle Bless Baynosa, whose powerful kicks and unwavering composure sealed her victory. Their triumph paves the way for greater expectations as they move forward at the next level—Area Meet.

Meanwhile, Aldous Xavier Lucero and Floro Jr. Medina both fought fiercely, demonstrating grit and perseverance that earned them well-deserved silver medals. Their matches highlighted not just their individual strength but also the unity and determination of the whole team.

This remarkable haul of medals is more than just numbers—it reflects the hard work, discipline, and countless hours of training poured in by the athletes. It also serves as an inspiration to their fellow students, proving that with passion and perseverance, excellence is within reach.

𝐏𝐚𝐥𝐚𝐫𝐨𝐧𝐠 𝐁𝐚𝐲𝐚𝐧 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟓: 𝐕𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐲𝐛𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐌𝐞𝐧’𝐬 𝐄𝐥𝐢𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧

The Volleyball Men’s Elimination of Palarong Bayan was held last September 26, 2025 at Del Pilar Community Center. La Salette of Cabatuan (LSC) played with full effort to represent the school.

In their first game, La Salette of Cabatuan (LSC) fought against Luis Fe Gomez Diamantina National High School (LFGDNHS). La Salette won the first set with 25-14 and the second set with 25-11, giving them a straight victory.

In the second game, LSC faced Cabatuan National High School (CNHS). They tried their best but lost both sets, 25-16 and 25-18.

For their third game, La Salette of Cabatuan (LSC) again played with Luis Fe Gomez Diamantina National High School (LFGDNHS), who came back after defeating Philippine Yuh Chui School (PYCS) in the lower bracket. This time, La Salette of Cabatuan won again and secured their place in the Finals with a final score, 25-22 and 25-14.

The championship match was held on September 27, 2025, with LSC once again facing CNHS. Despite their determination, CNHS proved too strong, sweeping the finals with scores of 25-8, 25-15, and 25-16.

Though the gold slipped away, the LSC men’s volleyball team remained proud and grateful for reaching the championship. Team Captain Mario Carmelo Opeña shared, "Don’t be too confident in every game and always remember discipline in every match. Always help each other, stay united, cheer for your teammates, and most of all, our teamwork was strong and our communication inside the court was good. I’m happy with the effort of the whole team and the support of the people.”

La Salette of Cabatuan may have finished with silver, but their journey showed heart, teamwork, and fighting spirit—qualities that will inspire the school and teammates in the years to come.

𝐋𝐒𝐂’𝐬 𝐅𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐒𝐩𝐢𝐫𝐢𝐭 𝐒𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐬: 𝐖𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐧’𝐬 𝐕𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐲𝐛𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐉𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐧𝐞𝐲 𝐄𝐧𝐝𝐬 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐒𝐢𝐥𝐯𝐞𝐫

The Women’s Volleyball elimination round of the Palarong Bayan 2025 took place on September 26, 2025, at Cabatuan National High School, with matches that kept the crowd on the edge of their seats.

La Salette of Cabatuan (LSC) opened strong in their first game against Luis Fe Gomez Diamantina National High School (LFGDNHS). LSC displayed sharp attacks and solid defense, finishing the first set at 25-11 and the second at 25-16 for a clean sweep victory.

In their second game, LSC went head-to-head with host school Cabatuan National High School (CNHS). LSC battled hard to take the first set, 25-23, but CNHS quickly turned the momentum around, dominating the next two sets, 25-7 and 15-4, to secure the win.

With one more chance left, LSC faced PYCS in a do-or-die elimination match. Their determination carried them through, and the victory earned them the right to challenge CNHS again—this time for the championship.

The finals were held at Cabatuan National High School, where CNHS stood tall as they swept LSC in three sets, 25-9, 25-15, and 25-21. The home team celebrated their big win, but LSC left the court with heads held high. Even if LSC lost, they still made the school proud by reaching the finals and bringing home the silver medal. They showed courage until the last set, giving a strong fight before CNHS sealed the match.

As their captain Roselyn Miranda said, "We enjoyed and united inside the court, following our coach and trainers’ guidance. Even against strong opponents, our teamwork and communication led us to the championship round. Our hard work in training paid off with a silver medal, inspired by those who doubted us. We are thankful to our supporters, coaches, and trainers who gave us strength to keep fighting.”

Though LSC may not have taken the gold, their journey was a story of hard work, teamwork, and determination—a performance that inspired the whole school and proved that they are strong contenders in women’s volleyball.

The recent swimming competition held during Palarong Bayan became a proud moment for the team as two young athletes, Klyv Eion G. Uaje and Pete Jerome P. Orteza, stood out with their strong performances.

Eion also known as LSC’s Golden Boy—from the previous Palaro—showed consistency and determination in his events, earning 1 gold and 4 silver medals. His effort was further recognized, as his tally was counted as 3 golds—a reflection of his steady performance in the pool, as he is about to step up into another level.

Meanwhile, Peejhay also contributed to the team’s success with 2 silvers, proving that every race was an opportunity to grow and push forward. His determination and focus added to the team’s overall spirit.

More than these 7 medals they brought home, their achievements highlight the values of hard work, discipline, and teamwork. Eion and Peejhay’s efforts remind us that success in swimming, just like in life, comes from patience, practice, and the will to keep moving forward.

The Palarong Bayan 2025 Chess competition was held at Cabatuan National High School with players from LSC, PYCS, CNHS, LPNHS, and LFGDNHS battling across the boards in Standard and Blitz categories.

In the Standard Boys Division, La Salette of Cabatuan (LSC) started strong. John Gerald Carorocan won against Cabatuan National High School (CNHS) and Luis Fe Gomez Diamantina National High School (LFGDNHS) but lost to Philippine Yuh Chiau School (PYCS). His teammate, Carl James Albano, won over CNHS and LFGDNHS but was also defeated by PYCS.

In the Standard Girls Division, Xyrene Leonardo opened with a win againts CNHS, but she lost her second match to LFGDNHS. Third round brought another highlight when Xyrene captured a win against LFGDNHS. Meanwhile, Mirajoy Navarro lost her first game against LFGDNHS, bounced back with a win against Lapaz National High School (LPNHS), but fell again in her third game against LFGDNHS.

John Gerald shared what motivates him in every game: “The people who I play with chess—my cousins, especially Telebong and kuya Jomer, and of course my parents.”

The excitement continued in the Blitz category. Philippine Yuh Chiau School (PYCS) proved too strong, becoming the overall champion with 17 points. LSC followed as first runner-up with 13 points, then CNHS with 12.5, LFGDNHS with 9, and LPNHS with 6.

While PYCS took the crown, LSC’s victories over CNHS, LFGDNHS, and LPNHS showed their strength and determination. Their performance proved they are strong challengers in this year’s Palarong Bayan Chess.

𝐎𝐩𝐞𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐨𝐟 𝐏𝐚𝐥𝐚𝐫𝐨𝐧𝐠 𝐁𝐚𝐲𝐚𝐧 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟓

The palarong bayan 2025 officially opened on September 26, 2025 at the Municipal Social Hall. The program began early in the morning, with students, teachers, and school delegations proudly joining the assembly.

The event started with the singing of National Anthem, Isabela Hymn, and Cabatuan Hymn, by Joemilyn C. Soriben, Teacher III Namnama Elementary School. This was followed by a solemn prayer led by Cynthia V. Magalad, Teacher III from Canan Elementary School.

After the opening rites, Hon. Diane Valerie A. Reyes, SK Federation President, delivered the Welcome Address. Hon. Willie A. Martin Jr., SB Member/Chair, Committee on Education, gave the Opening Remarks, while messages of support and encouragement were shared by Hon. Mario I. Acosta, MD, Municipal Vice Mayor.

The highlight of the program was the Presentation of Athletic Delegations from district, private, and secondary schools, showing the unity and spirit of sportsmanship of Cabatuan.

The Entrance of the Palaro Flame and the Lighting of the Friendship Urn was a special moment. The torchbearers were outstanding athletes who had represented Cabatuan in regional and national competitions. They were:

⁃ Guiller Jacob G. Dela Cruz, Swimming Boys – CAVRAA Qualifier (Cabatuan West Central School)
⁃ Atara Maxine B. Isidro and Caitlin Allana A. Pañebe, Swimming Girls – CAVRAA Qualifiers (Philippine Yuh Chiau School)
⁃ John Ian L. Nahpadan, Taekwondo – CAVRAA Qualifier (La Salette of Cabatuan)
⁃ Lucas Andrei E. Calderon, Lawn Tennis – CAVRAA Qualifier (Philippine Yuh Chiau School)
⁃ Matteo A. Medina IV, Archery – CAVRAA Qualifier (Philippine Yuh Chiau School)

The Oath of Amateurism was led by Lance Jayson A. Totol, while the Oath of Officials and Coaches was delivered by Gemma T. Ramos, Palarong Pambansa Coach (Cabatuan National High School). To officially begin the sportsfest, Dr. Maria Juliet G. Florendo, School Principal III/Principal In-Charge, CED, declared the opening of the 2025 Palarong Bayan.

After the ceremony, the games began.
